  Mrs. Portmann of Chilton Is Called To Rest Thursday Chilton -- Mrs. Robert Portmann, aged 74, died Thursday at 4 p.m. at her home. Mrs. Robt. Portmann, nee Reiter, was born in Germany and came to this country at the age of two years accompanied by her parents, who settled in Wisconsin. She was married forty-four years all to Robert Portmann and the couple always lived in Calumet county. Besides her husband, Mrs. Portmann is survived by the ?????? children; Joseph, Henry, William, John and Frank Portmann; and Mrs. Matt Schumacher, Mrs. William Melchoir, Mrs. Leo Parie, Mrs. John Mainz, all of Calumet county; and Mrs. Joseph Wettstein of North Dakota; also two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Giesen of H???????, Mrs. James Prush of Crivitz and three brothers, John Reiter, of Hilbert; Nicholas Reiter of Menasha, and Peter Reiter of Oshkosh. Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic church at Kloten. The Rev. Francis Heimann will officiate and burial will be made in the Kloten cemetery. Sheboygan Press Wed., Apr. 18, 1934 pg. 4 Funeral Rites Are Held For Late Mrs. Robert Portmann Chilton. -- Funeral services for Mrs. Robert Portmann were held at St. Elizabeth's church at Kloten Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock. The Rev. Francis Heimann officiated at the services and interment was made in the Kloten cemetery. Active pallbearers were: Cyril, Carl and Florent Reiter, Lloyd Portmann, and John Mainz and Victor Klapperich, grandsons of the departed. Mrs. John See, Mrs. Alfred Neuber, Mrs. August Propson, Mrs. Jacob Schneider, Mrs. Frank Grenzer, and Mrs. Frank Wettsein, all members of the Christian Mothers' Society were honorary pallbearers. Out-of-town persons attending the funeral were; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Reiter, Oshkosh, Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Reiter and son, Carl, Menasha, Mr. and Mrs. John Portmann and Rose Meyers, Sherwood, Mr. and Mrs. John Reiter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Peter D???, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Gehl, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Thiel, Mr. and Mrs. John ?????, Mr. and Mrs. Matt Tre???, Mrs. Nicholas Spang, all of Hilbert; Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Reiter, ??????, Mr. and Mrs. Al Portmann, Stockbridge, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gerhard, New Holstein, Otto Portmann and son, Lloyd, Mr. and Mrs. John Nenning, Mr. and Mrs. John Vogt, Mr. and Mrs. William Melchoir, Mr. and Mrs. John Melchoir, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Parie, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Groeschel, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Anton Groeschel Jr., all of Chilton, Mr. and Mrs. Aloysius Me?????? and Mrs. John Mainz of ?????burg, John Klapperich and ????? and Mr. and Mrs. Ed H.??? Marytown. The Christian Mothers Society of which Mrs. Portmann was a member attended the services as one body.
