  Bruyette, John J. John J. Bruyette, age 56, of Waupaca, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was born in Appleton on January 17, 1952, the son of Park and Esther May (Kotz) Bruyette. He was united in marriage to Mary Orton on July 3, 1976, in Lancaster, WI. They celebrated 32 years of marriage this summer. John graduated from Appleton East High School in 1970, then attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. He worked for Office Technology, Inc. in Neenah from 1982 until his retirement in 2007. John lived in Appleton for 52 years until he and Mary relocated to their summer cottage in Waushara County. He had a life-long love of the outdoors, especially downhill skiing, swimming, landscaping and bird watching. John was a passionate family man; a loving and loyal husband, father, son, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Mary, Waupaca; two children: Anne Bruyette, Peoria, IL; John Bruyette, Stevens Point. He also leaves behind his mother, Esther May Bruyette, Appleton; brother, James Bruyette, Sheboygan; and sister, Jeanne (Steve) Bailey, Green Bay. John is further survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceding John in death were his father, Park; and sister-in-law, Merrie Bob Bruyette. A celebration of John's life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008, at the Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca. Family and friends may gather from 1-3 p.m. It was John's wish that a memorial fund be established for the American Cancer Society.
