    • Note - 12/5/2011 email with Kris Matthies from Green Day Diocese on Cline baptismal record research:
      For the oldest sibling, William, I have his civil marriage record, found in St Paul, MN in 1888. Where he was born in NY is still a mystery. I have his 1927 death certificate, and also have made contact with his descendants in Washington state. However, I see I never pursued his church marriage record, and the priest's name is on the civil record. That's a lead worth pursuing, and I sent a request to the Minnesota Historical Society this evening, who has many of the local diocese records on microfilm.



      Listed as Michael in 1860 and 1870 Ft Howard Brown WI census. Not listed with father and mother in 1880 Ft Howard census

      !Age 6 in 24-Jun-1860 census, Age 16 in 02-Jul-1870 census. Oct 25 comes from death certificate. Although death certificate lists birth year as 1854, early data all point to 1853.

      !1895 MN Census - same house as brother Martin and family. Age 41, engineer. Maggie 28, Ida 6, Thomas 4, Frank 3, Mamie 1. Both Maggie and sister Ella were in MN 8 yrs; William and Martin 14 yrs.

      !On Anna's 15-May-1896 birth card, address is 1174 East Seventh Street

      !Nathaniel John Cline birth record of 28-Jun-1898 shows 1077 Ross address again

      !Oct 1853 brith listed in 1900 Census, age 46, married 12 yrs, occupation Engineer

      !1905 MN Census has minimal information and extremely hard to read, but looks like William and Margaret.

      !1910 Tacoma WA Census shows as married 21 yrs, 7 children born and alive, with the youngest (Martin) born in MN. Occupation "machinist carshops". Address on East J Street

      !1920 Census shows address as 6401 "E J", between E 65 and E 64, which are the same streets as in 1910 census. Also shows that William owned the house free of mortgage. Age is off, stated as 60. Machinist for Milwaukee RR.
