I stumbled across it looking for in fo on Hollandtown. As a Catholic nun, School Sister of Notre Dame, I re ad through your list of religious relatives. Besides recognizing a f ew of our own, I also knew Germaine Hietpas. Back in the early 1980's, I was a spiritual director for Sister Germain e, O.P., a Racine Dominican. (Apparently, like many nuns, she had gone ba ck to using her baptismal name.) She was struggling with a cancer diagnos is at the time, but she was a woman rich in faith. Germaine died of canc er sometime after 1983. I remember her as a wonderful, un-showy, quiet, wi nsome, fun and spiritually beautiful woman! While she struggled with cance r, her faith was so rich and sustaining. She and Sister Mary Sherer, O.P ., the nun with whom she lived at the time (home address, 211 Lom Stre et in Combined Locks), were involved in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal f or many years. I think I remember her ministering at St. John Nepomucene P arish in Little Chute where Msgr.
