  Bruce Becker, 69, Appleton, was received into God's glory on Sunday, May 30, 2010, surrounded by his family at Theda Clark Medical Center after complications from a stroke. Bruce was born on Oct. 23, 1940, in Appleton, Wis., the oldest son of Raymond and Emma (Paholke) Becker. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Menasha, where he served as an elder. Bruce was involved in many volunteer activities over the years, most notably Prison Ministry. Bruce attended Trinity Lutheran School in Menasha and graduated from Menasha High School in 1959. Bruce had several employments, retiring from the Appleton Post-Crescent after more than 30 years of service. He was also employed at Curwood and currently had a USA Today paper route. Bruce is survived by his first wife and mother of his children, Judith Becker; beloved children, Robyn (Jeff) Goetzman, Jill (Matt) Chaplock; grandchildren, Courtney and Kayla Goetzman; Monica and Marley Chaplock; sister, Barbara (Tom) Kester; brother, Mark (Jeanne) Becker; his aunt, Bonnie Kobussen; many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. Funeral services for Bruce will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad St., Menasha, with the Rev. Steven Billings officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 Broad St., and from 9 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Bruce's name. The family would like to thank the staffs of Theda Care Medical Center, Theda Care at Home and Theda Star for their compassion and care for Bruce and his family.
