  Rieder, Melvin L.Age 81, of 1709 B Hoover St. in New Holstein, died on Tuesday July 8, 20 03 at St. Elizabeth in Appleton. He was born May 19, 1922 in Mt. Calvary s on of the late Matthias & Frances (Steffes) Rieder. Melvin married Rosal ia “Sally” Simon on Nov. 24, 1942 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Chur ch in Johnsburg. He worked for Tecumseh, Brillion Iron Works and farmed wi th his wife in the Town of Chilton. She preceded him in death on Apr il 8, 2002. Melvin was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St ockbridge, a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, Eagl es Club in Chilton. He loved fishing, hunting & trapping, playing Skat & S heepshead while also being a wonderful Grandfather and Great Grandfathe r. Funeral Serv ices will be at 7:00 PM on Friday July 11, 2003 at Holy Rosary in New Hols tein with the Rev. Frank Weber officiating. Burial will take place Saturd ay morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Stockbridge. Friends may ca ll at Wieting Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 3 - 6: 30 PM on Friday July 11, 2003 when family prayers will be held.
