  Steven P. Van Hoof, of Sun Prairie, age 33, passed away on Sunday December 31, 2006. Steve was born on October 10, 1973, in Appleton, son of Peter J. Van Hoof and Patricia A. Van Hoof-Wittmann. He graduated from Xavier High School in Appleton, Wisconsin, in 1991. Steve was then awarded an Army ROTC scholarship to attend The University of Notre Dame, where he graduated with a degree in Finance in 1996. In 1999, he received the degree of Juris Doctor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Steve then became a member of the Wisconsin Bar Association and served as an Assistant District Attorney in Marathon County. In 2002, he was selected to become a member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where he proudly served as a Special Agent. In December of 2003, Steve married his lovely wife, Sarah R. Morris. A year later, they became the proud parents of a son, Rocco Augustus Van Hoof. Steve shared his last years in the comfort and joy of his loving wife and beautiful child. He was devoted to his family, friends, and his profession. Steve will be remembered for his humility, sense of humor, and grace. Steve will be greatly missed by his wife, Sarah, and his son, Rocco. He is also survived by his brother, Jason (Melissa) Van Hoof, Chicago IL; mother, Patricia (Hugo) Wittmann, Sherwood, WI; father, Peter (Karen) Van Hoof, Cedarburg, WI; sister-in-law, Karen (Curt) Fochs, Mosinee, WI; nephews, Josef and Ben Fochs, Mosinee, WI; mother and father-in-law, James and Sandra Morris, Mosinee, WI; extended family: Jacob Wittmann, Sherwood, WI; Mark (Cathy) Wittmann, Appleton, WI; Michelle (Michael) Dietz, Appleton, WI; along with many other family and friends. Funeral Services for Steve will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 6th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton, with Father Dave Belongea and Deacon Craig Merrick officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, with a prayer service at 7:30. Visitation will also be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 until the time of the service. The burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
