  Franklin E. Runge, age 87, of New London, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2008, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Franklin was born on December 31, 1920, in New London, son of the late William and Clara (Marasch) Runge. He owned and operated Frank's Country Market in Medina and also worked at Quality Markets, Patton's Meat Market, and Elmer's Supper Market and at Simmon's Company in New London. Franklin served his country during WWII in the Army from 1942-1945. He was a member of the Legion and the VFW. He is survived by a daughter, Sally Danke, New London; a son, Charles (Adrienne) Runge, New London; six grandchildren: Dawn (Brian) Bodoh, Clint (Donna) Danke, Deb (Tim) Dey, Rena (Roy) Luedtke, Susan (Jason) Zander, and Todd Runge, four step grandchildren: Brett, Brandon, Kenny and Kyle, thirteen great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Velda in 1990; a sister Sylvia, a son-in-law Bill Danke and three brother-in-laws. Funeral Services for Franklin will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial will be in the Mosquito Hill Cemetery, Town of Liberty. Friends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
