  Frank A Sanders, 82, Appleton, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at home with his family at his side. He was born April 14, 1926, in Appleton, to the late Frank and Claire (Nickasch) Sanders. He married Shirley Meyer on Sept. 22, 1951, and enjoyed 51 wonderful years together. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II. Frank worked for Appleton Papers for 38 years as a Human Resources Manager and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Frank was a member Our Savior Lutheran Church. He was active in Boy Scouts and served as a Merit Badge Counselor. He also served on the Advisory Board at AAA for 17 years. Frank loved the game of golf. He and his wife, Shirley, enjoyed many rounds of golf together all over the state and for 11 winters in Golf Shores, Ala. He had a good sense of humor and was a hardworking, well-respected person. He had a genuine interest in everyone he met, many with whom he developed deep, enduring friendships. He deeply loved his family. Frank often said, "I've had a wonderful life. I enjoyed every minute of it." Frank is survived by daughter, Chris (William) Mueller; son, Gary (Christa) Sanders; grandchildren, Maggie Wallace (special friend, Ben Foreman), Andrew (Amanda) Wallace and Sean Sanders; great-grandchild, Ella Mae Foreman; sister, Dorothy (Ranald) Grunert; and best friend, Evie Hug. He is further survived by other relatives and friends. Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and sister, June Ottman. A memorial service for Frank will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008, at Valley Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation for Frank will be at 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at Valley Funeral Home. The family would like to thank ThedaCare Hospice for the wonderful care they gave Frank.
