  McLaughlin, Aurea (Rippl) Aurea, age 97, passed away on December 28, 2008. She was born on March 9, 1911, daughter of the late Frank and Paula (Rueckl) Rippl. Aurea was in the first class to graduate from St. Mary High School in 1929. She was employed by several publishing companies, as well as held several Civil Service positions while having lived and worked in eight different states. Aurea married Clayton Peterson in 1956, he preceded her in death in 1960, at their home in Colorado Springs. In 1972, she married William McLaughlin and they enjoyed their retirement years in Venice, Florida. After his death, Aurea returned to Wisconsin. Aurea is survived by three sisters: Madge (Clem) Rass, Menasha; Rose Rippl, Menasha; Donna Rippl, Menasha; a step-daughter, Janet (Ralph) Drake, Indianapolis; many nieces and nephews. Aurea was also preceded in death by three sisters: Betty, Marie and her husband, William Kirsling, Cecelia and her husband, Harry Pawlowski; two brothers: Herbert, Paul and his wife, Marilla. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 528 Second Street, Menasha. Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church or to Catholic Missions in Aurea's name.
