  Anita Rosa Stecker, 84, Sherwood, entered her eternal rest on Monday, Dec. 29, 2008. She was born on Feb. 29, 1924, in the Town of Rantoul, daughter of the late Herman and Anna (Dekarske) Wunrow. On Sept. 30, 1944, she married Arthur Herman Stecker at Trinity in Rantoul. Anita farmed with her husband in the Town of Charlestown, where they lived most of their lives. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul, the Ladies Aid, she sang in both the Mixed Choir and Ladies Choir and was the first Sunday School Superintendent. Anita enjoyed reading, writing and making new friends, but most of all, she enjoyed sharing her faith in Jesus Christ. Survivors include her son, the Rev. Jerome (Paulette) Stecker, Milwaukee; a granddaughter, Stephanie (Patrick) Brooks, West Allis, and their daughter, Virginia Anita Brooks; a grandson, the Rev. Michael (Tamara) Stecker, Wisconsin Rapids, and their children, Gabriel William Stecker and Trinity Erin Stecker; a brother, Armond (Lillie) Wunrow and sister-in-law, Madeline Stecker, all of Brillion; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Anita was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Arthur, on March 15, 1998. Funeral service will be held on Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. The Rev. Timothy Benninghoff will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.
