Gladys Carol "Carol" Meyer, Appleton, age 81, passed away on Wednesday afternoon, February 11, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. Carol was born on August 30, 1927, in the Town of Harrison. She was a charter member of the Appleton Junior Women's Club, Appleton Women's Club, Chalice Circle King's Daughters, Faith Lutheran Church and a long time Faith Choir Member. Carol was also a member of Chaminade Chorus. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at Peabody Manor. Carol was married to Robert W. Meyer in 1948 who died on March 25, 1994. In 1995, she was remarried to Fred W. Burdett. She was a member of many Bridge groups, loved playing tennis, golfing, fishing, and traveling. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Fred; her daughter: Cindy Kay (Steve Behrend) Meyer; her son, John Stephen (Rose) Meyer; two grandsons: Barrett Stephen Meyer, and Braden Jon Meyer; great grandsons: Andrew Meyer, and Kelan Meyer; step-brother: Harold Hesse. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church (601 East Glendale Avenue) with Rev. Paul R. Brinkman officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
