Carl N. Ruedinger Sr., 67, Appleton, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2009. He was born on March 17, 1942, son of the late John and Blanche (Stoll) Ruedinger. Carl enjoyed fishing and reading. He was employed with Rockwell International before going on to own and operate Stay New Maintenance and then School Grove Distributing before retiring. Carl is survived by his wife of almost 11 years, Margaret E. Mayer; five children, Kim (Donald) Freestone, Carl Jr., Linda Johnson, Dan (special friend, Karen) and Sheila (Dave) Plettenberg; five stepchildren, Cindy (Ray) VanEperan, Cathy Kleist, Robert Mayer, Judy (Jim) Jones and Sandy Mayer. He is further survived by 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred (Dennis) Behm; and a brother, Robert. Carl was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia. A funeral service for Carl will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Valley Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Carl's name. VALLEY FUNERAL HOME 2211 N.
