  Urban L. "Urbie" Koehler, 78, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at Manor Care Health Center, Appleton. He was born January 7, 1931, son of the late Leonard and Teresa (Blotz) Koehler in Green Bay and resided in Hilbert. In 1949, he graduated from Hilbert High School and on June 17, 1961, he married Dorothy Schwister. Urban served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post #127- Hilbert for over 50 years. He worked at Kimberly-Clark paper mill until his retirement in 1990. Urban enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening and dancing, especially to polkas. He will be remembered for talking with his neighbors on his long walks. He also enjoyed volunteering around the community, especially at his churches, St. Gabriel and St. Bernadette as well as the Hearthside Retirement Community in Neenah. Urban is survived by his wife, Dorothy and their children: Debbie (John) Groff, Neenah, Susan Koehler, St. Anthony, MN, Kevin Koehler, Wisconsin Rapids and Kathy (Bill) Rutten, Kohler; grandchildren: Ryan (Katie) Groff, Nick Groff, Rachel Groff, Courtney Rutten and Jennifer Rutten; brothers: Edward Koehler, Hilbert, Robert Koehler, Chilton, Paul (Ann) Koehler, DePere and Vincent (Lois) Koehler, Milwaukee; sisters: Dolores Koehler, Hilbert and Kathleen Lanthier, Niagara. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marguerite Koehler and his mother and father-in-law. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2009, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church (2331 E. Lourdes Dr) with Rev. Don Zuleger officiating. Visitation will take place from 9:30 a.m.until the time of Mass at church. Entombment will take place in Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, memorials may be given to St. Bernadette Catholic Church.
