  Harley H. Simmelink, 85, of Peoria, AZ, passed away at home on January, 10, 2010. Born on April 4, 1924 in the Town of Holland, WI, he was the son of Henry and Delia (Mentink) Simmelink. After serving for 3 years in the armed services during World War II he returned home, met and married Juanita Meyer on October 17, 1947. Harley and Juanita lived in Oostburg for many years where Harley was a farmer. In addition to farming, Harley worked as a machinist for Kohler General in Sheboygan Falls for 16 years, serving as shop steward; owned a Real Estate & Auction Company for a number of years and was Cub Scout Master for 12 years. After moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1975 he was self-employed for several years working with turquoise jewelry and auctioneering. He enjoyed volunteering his time to various organizations and did so for 9 years with AARP as a Safe Driver Instructor, with Boswell Hospital as a courtesy cart driver for 3 years as well as giving the children's sermon for 7 years at Christ Community Church where he was a member for over 25 years. After retiring he and Juanita spent many years traveling the Central and Western United States in their Fifth-wheel trailer. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; sons, Richard of Dade City, FL, Michael of Vancouver, WA, and Danny of Glendale, AZ; daughters, Mary (Cres) Fregoso of Grand Haven, MI and Diann (Dennis) Welsh of Sycamore, IL; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 4 sisters and his son, Steven and daughter-in-law, Celia. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 22, 2010 in the clubhouse of Sun City Townhouse Estates, 10201 N. 99th Ave., Peoria, AZ. A burial service will be held in Oostburg, WI at a later date. The Sheboygan Press January 21, 2010
