  Donald W. Treptow, 85, Ashwaubenon, passed away on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at his home. Don was born on October 17, 1926 in Kaukauna to the late Arthur and Lucille (Meyer) Treptow. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. He married Danette Hoppe on October 5, 1957. She preceded him in death on July 31, 1981. Don was a printer for the Green Bay Press-Gazette for more than 40 years. He was a quiet man with a wonderfully dry sense of humor who loved telling stories of his days in the military. His favorite time of the year was the first week in June when he and his brother Lee spent time fishing on Big Lake Arbor Vitae. He loved watching the Packers, the Brewers, and any golf game he could find on his TV. He was an expert at crossword puzzles. In his younger years, his hobbies included camping with his family, fishing, and working on his model railroad. He enjoyed square dancing and golfing with his wife. For the past several years he's enjoyed playing Rummikub and cribbage with the neighbors at Woodside Oaks where he lived. He loved all kinds of music, and even had an organ in his apartment on which he played hymns. He enjoyed going to church, and was extremely proud of his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his three children, Brian (Amy) Treptow of New Berlin, Pastor Earle (Jeanne) Treptow of Denver, CO and CJ Romberger of Austin, TX; eight grandchildren, Justin Romberger, Jordan, Bennett, Ty, Samantha, Connor, Talia and Tessa Treptow; a brother and sister-in-law, Lee (Dorothy) Treptow ; a sister-in-law, Gloria Treptow and his mother-in-law, Frieda Hoppe. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Donald was preceded in death by his brothers, Mark and Bill Treptow.
