Groat, age 82, dearly beloved husband of Joraine, nee Sieber; beloved father of Mary, Susan and the late Judith Groat; loving brother of the late Bernice and John Groat; dear uncle of many. Lying in state Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2004, from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service 11:30 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church, 3144 S. Home Ave., Berwyn. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday, 2 to 8 p.m., at the Mount Auburn Funeral Home, 4101 S. Oak Park Ave., Stickney. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Concordia Lutheran Church would be appreciated. Info 708-749-2033.
