  Mrs. John Lonkey Jr. has been suffering this week from a severe attack of pneumonia. Being quite weak from her recent illness the prospect for her recovery is not the brightest, although all hope for a speedy change for the better. The Silent Reaper Mrs. John Lonkey Mrs. John Lonkey, Jr. died at her home in Bovina, Tuesday, Feb. 13, at 6 o'clock a.m., from pneumonia, after an illness of two weeks. She had but just recovered from an illness which left her in a very poor condition to battle with this severe ailment. Ida May Volentine was born in Ohio, Dec. 16, 1870. She came west with her parents when a child and lived for a time in Kansas, then making a permanent home in Bovina. On November 12, 1897 she was married to John Lonkey Jr. forming a most pleasant and happy union for three brief years. One child was born to them, little [Wray] who survives her. To mourn her early [dedarture] she leaves a husband and little boy, a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Volentine, three sisters, Mrs. H.H. Langman, Mrs. Bert Thompson, and one brother, Orlo Volentine. Besides the relatives there are many who mourn for her as one of their family. The funeral was held from the house Thursday forenoon. Rev. Phil Hitchcock officiating.
