Following an illness of two years, Mrs. Anton Groeschel died at her home in the town of Brothertown on Sunday morning at the age of forty years and eight months. Katherine Groeschel was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wettstein of Charlesburg and was born in the town of Stockbridge May 15, 1876, remaining there with her parents until May 4, 1893 when she was married to Anton Groeschel and they located on the Groeschel homestead in Brothertown. She was always a dutiful daughter and a devoted wife and mother, unselfishly caring for her home and family, until her health failed. Her death is a severe blow to them as well as to her parents, brothers, and sisters. She will also be sadly missed by a host of friends who knew and admired her for her many excellent qualities. During her long illness she bore her sufferings with great patience, and tried in every way to make it pleasant for those about her. She is survived by a husband, eleven children, all at home except Mrs. Fred Koehler of Stockbridge town, her aged parents, seven brothers and six sisters.
