  Daniel J. Van Gompel, 51, Green Bay, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2008. He was born Feb. 14, 1957, to the late Earl and Theresa (Jakubowski) Van Gompel. Dan graduated from West De Pere High School in 1975, were he had been a stand out athlete. He had also been involved in the Pink Flamingo Tournament. He recently had been employed at Packerland Packing as an electrician. He is survived by his sisters, Lynn (Ken) Nelson, Cindee Luedtke and her special friend, Alan Kocourek, all of Green Bay. Dan is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Chad and Stacey Nelson, and Kari, Jennifer, and Bill Luedtke, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. His parents, his brother Michael, and his grandparents preceded him in death. A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family in De Pere.
