  Joseph Derus, 56, Dies at Kaukauna Body Was Found at Home; Had Been Resident of City for 49 Years Kaukauna. The body of Joseph Derus, 55, 304 Sarah street, was found hanging in the bedroom of his home about 9 o'clock Sunday morning. Mr. Derus was born in Germany in 1883 and lived in Kaukauna the last 49 years. He was a papermaker for many years and was operating a tavern at the time of his death. Dr. H. E. Ellsworth, county coroner, said today Derus took his own life and that no inquest will be held. Survivors are the widow; two daughters; Mrs. Roy Winkler, Askeaton; Mrs. Orville Griese, Kimberly; five sons; Harold, Wilbur Harvey, Kaukauna; Roy. De Pere; Lloyd, Appleton: three brothers, John, Frank, Tony. Kaukauna; three sisters, Mrs. Edward Campshure. Appleton; the Misses Clara and Pauline Derus, Kaukauna, and four grandchildren. Funeral services are tentatively arranged for 8:30 Wednesday morning at the residence with services at 9 o'clock at Holy Cross church. Burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
