Rita Bodde, age 81, of Montello, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2006, surrounded by her family. She was born December 13, 1924, daughter of John and Henrietta "Hattie" (Coenen) Pitsch. She was united in marriage to Robert Bodde on February 24, 1942, in Kimberly, he preceded her in death on July 12, 1991. She was a member of the Lioness Club, Ladies Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, St. John's Ladies Aid, Alter Society, St. Ann's Society, Christian Mothers, Volunteer at Montello Care Center, and she started Home Bound Communion Service for St. John's Catholic Church. She is survived by her three sons: Gene Bodde, Brillion; Anthony (Kim) Bodde, Armstrong Creek; Kenneth (Pat) Bodde, Kaukauna; three daughters: Karen Bodde, Appleton; Barbara (Gary) Seegers, Freedom; Gloria (Dave) Faccio, Montello; 15 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, three sisters: Marie (George) Verkuilen, Oneida; Martha DeCleene, Lena; Agnes Johnson, Westfield; a brother, Ray Pitsch, Kimberly; two sisters-in-law: Mary Wallace, Kaukauna; Rita VanLinn, Black Creek; brother-in-law, Charles (Frieda) Bodde, Kaukauna; nieces, nephews, others relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Robert; sister, Ileta (Robert Janz) (Charles) Swinton; six brothers-in-law: Virgil (Betty) Bodde, John "Jack" Bodde, Ken Wallace, Bill VanLinn, Joseph DeCleene, Sheridan Johnson, sister-in-law, Beatrice Pitsch. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2006, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Father Richard Lesniak officiating. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at the Steinhaus-Wachholz Funeral Home in Montello. Friends and family may also visit at the CHURCH on Thursday, at 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Montello. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Theda Care Hospice, Dr. Williams and his staff for their excellent care of Rita.
