  PIONEER RESIDENT OF FREEDOM DIES WEDNESDAY Tone Sanderfoot, 91 years old, died Wednesday evening at five o'clock after a long illness. He had suffered from paralysis for over three years. Mr. Sanderfoot was a pioneer settler in this town and a native of Holland. He is survived by four sons, Tone, Peter, Jake, and George, and two daughters, Mrs. Jake Vandenhuvel and Mrs. John Van Derhooy, all of this town. The funeral will take place at ten o'clock Saturday morning in St. Nicholas church with interment in the church cemetery. Appleton Post Crescent Then dated March 2, 1927; 89 SURVIVORS LEFT BY FREEDOM PIONEER, Special to Post Crescent Freedom - The funeral of Albert Sanderfoot took place at ten o'clock Saturday morning from St. Nicholas church. The decedent was a pioneer settler. He was born in Holland in 1837. He settled first in Little Chute where he lived three years. In 1862, he married Hendricka Wennen and shortly afterward moved to Freedom where he spent fifty years. In 1912, they celebrated their golden wedding. Mrs. Sanderfoot died a year later. From that time on he made his home with his son, Antone Sanderfoot. For the last three years, he had been unable to leave his bed. He would have been ninety-one years of age had he lived until April 6. The deceased is survived by four sons, Jake, George, Antone, and Peter all of Freedom, four daughters, Mrs. John Brown and Mrs. Jake Vandenheuvel of Freedom; Mrs. John Vanderlroy of Little Chute, and Mrs. Henry Bogart of Crivitz. Fifty-eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren also survive. The pall bearers were twelve of the grandchildren: Henry, Nick and Bert Brown, Theodore, John and Bert Sanderfoot, Arnold, Bert, Willie, and Henry Guertz, Frank Bogart and John Vandenheuvel. Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Henry and John Vandenheuvel of Green Bay; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hietpas of Little Chute; Mr. and Mrs. William Vandenheuvel and family of Oneida, Mr. and Mrs. John Von Weile of Black Creek.
