That is a pretty interesting-sounding relationship: half 8th cousin on ce removed! I kind of chuckled when I read that... Is it possible for you to export in GEDCOM a "pared" tree, i.e. a bran ch that begins, say, with either Helene or her mother? I'm hoping that P AF does a good job of merging the two databases, but I'm guessing that 's is a pretty common procedure and hopefully they've figured out how to a ccomplish that. Is that something you've attempted before, and if so, h ow successful were you with it? Also, I'm curious about your source for the name of Nicholas Libert's fat her, "Ecaire Libert". The death record I have of him lists his name as "C arl Libert", but it was not an original (i.e. someone copied it manually ). Is "Ecaire" a Luxembourgish variant of Carl? I poked around on the w eb to see if it was a common name, but haven't had any luck yet. Just curi ous... Again, thanks for your help.
