  Commentary	When Isla and Arlene lived in Freedom and were in grade school, Pat would give them a ride to school with the horse and buggy. He dropped them off and then delivered his cream to the creamery. He would then go back to the farm to work and in the afternoon would usually go pick them up. They sold the farm to Matt Van Dyke when she was 7 years old. When Arlene and Gene were married they moved into Patrick and Delia's home on 8th Street in Kaukauna. At that time the 2nd floor was remodled. Origanally it had 3 bedrooms. It was remodled to one bedroom, a sewing room, a bathroom and a small kitchen area. Delia lived up there until she went into a nursing home. Her dining room table was the same table Patrick and Delia brought to the house when they moved there in 1916. The table was kept by Marge Krause Luebke when Arlene died. There were 2 pictures in the dining room that Arlene painted when she was taking lessons. The instructor helped her touch them up. Gail Kraus Shinkle has the pictures.
