  Lucille D. Zimmerman, 96, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Century Ridge in Green Bay. Lucille was born on April 25, 1915, to Edwin and Martha (Retzlof) Risse. She married her junior high school sweetheart Lawrence Zimmerman on August 12, 1931, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage before he died in 2005. She was active in her First English Church where she was in the Rebecca Circle. She was also active in the hospital board and was instrumental in the building of Appleton Medical Center. Lucille was also very active in the local elections helping in the polls for many years. Most of all Lucille was devoted to her family. Lucille is survived by three children; Dr. Richard C. (Kathleen) Zimmerman, West Bend; Nancy L. (Donald) Wallace, Madison; and Arbor Vitae, Peter C. (Judith) Zimmerman, Plover; 13 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lawrence, a daughter, Luann, a sister Drucilla and a brother Harold. The funeral service for Lucille will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Mary Bauer officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UW Carbone Cancer Center. The family would like to thank Century Ridge in Green Bay for the marvelous care they gave Mom for the last five years, and also to Unity Hospice for their care shown Lucille and the family.
