  See Image Death Occurs Sunday Moon in Mar inette, Mrs James O'Connell succumbs after severe illness yesterday. Shor tly before the midday hour on Sunday, August 12th, the life cycle of Mr s. James O'Connell Sr., highly esteemed pioneer in Marinette, was terminat ed. Death occurred at 11:40 a.m. in the M and M and hospital whether t he patient had been removed a few days before, when her condition became c ritical. Born in Wisconsin. Born in Mapleton, Waukesha County, Wisconsi n, September 7th, 1857, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cox, the descenda nt was married to James O'Connell, who survives, in Monches Wisconsin M ay 7th, 1881. In July of the same year the couple came to Marinette, resi ding here continuously. Their first place of residence was at the corn er of Wells and Grant Street, after which the House at 1151 Garfield Avenu e, was purchased 43 years ago and has been occupied by the family ever sin ce. The final illness dated from July 11th, due to intestinal complicatio ns and on August 6th, when a critical stage was reached, the sufferer w as removed to the hospital, where she was tenderly cared for by family mem bers and special nurses. It was the privilege of Mrs. O'Connell to have h er son, the Rev. William A. O'Connell O.P. of Denver, Colorado with h er to minister to her during the final illness. She was further favor ed by the presence of all of her children at her death bed. The survivo rs are the bereaved husband, James O'Connell and children, the Re v. W. A. O'Connell, of Denver; James M., David J., George D., Mary and Mar garet O'Connell. All of Marinette. Two other children, Allen and John di ed years ago. Mrs. O'Connell also leaves a brother Michael Cox of Los Ang eles, and a sister Mrs. Catherine Dalton of Mapleton, who is here at prese nt, and five grandchildren. The body was moved to the McLain funeral ho me and today was taken to the family residence. The funeral be held Thurs day morning at 1030 from our Lady of Lourdes Church. Interment will be ma de in Forest home cemetery. Mrs. O'Connell was a member of the Lord's alt ar Society, St. Margaret's Court of Women Catholic Order of Foresters, a nd the Catholic Women's Club and the Women's Relief Corps #85 of S. H. Siz er Post G.A.R. Possessed of a cheery disposition and exalted virtues, Mr s. O'Connell was always a welcome visitor and had a host of admiring frien ds. In times of stress she was ever ready to aid in sympathize and w as a devoted member of Lords congregation. Being the only mother of a pri est in the congregation. Long and tenderly will her memory be cherish ed by all who knew and loved her. She was the type of valient woman of ye steryear, whose lives were a benediction. She has bequeathed her family r emembrance of a true wife and devoted mother, the luster of whose memory w ill never be dimmed.   1881 The Juneau Telegram dated May 20th, 1881 Mr. James O'Connell, of June au, was married last Saturday, May 7th, at the Catholic Church in mopes i s, by the Reverend Father Riley, to Mrs. Maggie Cox, a daughter of Mr. Jo hn Cox, one of the oldest and most substantial citizens of the town of Mer ton. A sister of the bridegroom, Miss Lizzy O'Connell, acted as a bridesm aid, and a brother of the bride acted as brides man. The bride looked lov ely in a dark olive green and servers, walking length, with trimmings of b rooded at Saxon and fringe to match. The bridesmaid was becoming dress ed in a blue cashmere and satin dress. At the close of the ceremony the c ompany of relatives and friends of the two contracting parties adjourn ed it to the residence of the bride's parents or a sumptuous repast wiza rd of that their pathway through life may be strewn with roses, and that a ll their hopes be realized, is the wish of numerous friends.
