  See image Mrs. John PowersAfter a lingering illness, Helen, wife of John Powers of Buchanan, sank pe acefully to her long rest early Tuesday morning, surrounded by the fami ly who are left heart broken by her loss. Her husband and ten children, h er mother, two brothers and two sisters mourn her departure. Soon after t he first of Decemeber, Mrs. Powers, whose failing health caused her to se ek a change of climate, went to Berkley, California, thinking to spend t he winter and in the spring return recuperated to her dear ones. But the d amp atmosphere of that locality only made her worse and as soon as possib le she returned home feeling she needed the gentle care of her family mo re than anything else, and from her arrival at home January 28, she contin ued to fail until the end came Tuesday morning at 12:40 o'clock, when s he bid her dear ones a loving and final farewell.Helen Rohan was born in Buchanan, June 20th, 1866, and has lived all her l ife in this vicinity. She was married July 3rd, 1888, to John Powers, w ho with their children survive. They are as follows; William H. Powers, Bu chanan; Mrs. John Vandenberg, Kenosha; Mrs. Charles McDonald, Chicago; Ele anor, Marguerite, Genevieve, Patrick, John, Edward, and Harold Powers at h ome; also her mother, Mrs. John Rohan, and brothers William and Patrick Ro han, Kaukauna, and sisters, Mrs Barney Keelan, Antigo and Mrs. Martin Conn ers, Appleton.Mrs. Powers death will long be mourned by a large circle of friends in Buc hanan and Kaukauna where she was universally respected for her many good q ualities of mind and character.The funeral was held from St. Francis church at Holland Thursday under cha rge of her pastor, Rev. Father Van Elsen, with internment in the parish ce metery. The six pall-bearers were her own family, her husband, John Powe rs and her five sons, William H. Powers, Patrick Powers, John Powers, Jr ., Edward Powers and Harold Powers. What could be more appropriate th an to be tenderly born to her last earthly home by her own dearly belov ed ones - those who loved her best.
