  Steven J. Thon, 93, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully at his home on Feb. 19, 2010. He was born Dec. 15, 1916, in the Town of Harrison, the son of the late Herman and Mary (Zollpriester) Thon. At the age of 18 Steve lost his father, he ran the family farm to support his mother and his seven younger siblings and continued farming until his retirement in 1982. Steve was a kind and gentle person, in retirement Steve enjoyed working on small engines, cutting wood, shaking dice, taking drives and helping out at St. Vincent DePaul. Steve is survived by his brother: Robert Thon, Kaukauna, with whom he lived with; his sister and brother-in-law Marian (Norman) Parizek, Chilton; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Steve is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary; sisters, Georgia (Henry -James) Meyerhofer-Rochon; Florence (John) Hruska; Bernice (Raymond) Carducci; Marilyne (Leslie) McConnell and Gladys (Francis) Clavers; brother Kenneth (Betty) Thon. A special thank you to Steve's grand-nieces and nephew's for all their care. Funeral Services for Steve will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday Feb. 28, 2010, at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna.
