See image Mrs. Martin Weyenberg departed this life Saturday morning at 4:00 at the family ho me on the south side at the age of 52 years. Deceased has been ailing since the fourth of April during which time she underwent an operation at S t. Elizabeth's Hospital where she was for six weeks. She returned home s ix months ago and has been ill continuously since that time. She was born in Gosch Holland in 1860 and was married at the same place to Martin Weyenberg, coming direct from Holland to Kaukauna 31 years ago where she h as since resided. Surviving her are her husband, Martin Weyenberg and the following children, Matthew Weyenberg of Appleton, Mrs. Frank Noie, Mr s. Engelbert Leithen, Mrs. Charles Hopfensperger, Mary, Dora, Gertrude, Elizabeth and Jacob all of Kaukauna. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother in Holland. Mrs. Weyenberg was a kind and loving wife and mother. She was a patient suffer, and a devout Christian. She was a member of the alter society of St. Mary's Church who attended the funer al in the body. The funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10:00 at St. Mary 's Church with internment in the parish cemetery. Many beautiful floral tributes were sent from the following a, chrysanthemums for Mr. and Mrs. Max Weyenberg, of Appleton a cross of roses, from Mr. and Mrs. Leithent, roses Mr. and Mrs. Hopfensperger, a pillow Mr. Mrs. Frank Noie, Astors from Mrs. VanLynn, carnations from William Driessen and Mrs. Anna VanLynn and asters from Dan Jansen.
Note: there is no Gosch, holland, however, not far from Buegen is a Goch, Germany which is where I am sure she would be from. (had germany as a birth location before obit mentioned holland.) Goch, has changed from Prussia to Netherlands, To Germany.

She died Thursday at the age of 101. 'She was a remarkable gal,' sa id her daughter in-law, Jane Vosters of Kalamazoo. Born in 1893, she never drove a car but walked nearly every place she ne eded to go. Even up to her 100th year, she volunteered at Borgess Nursing Home, help ing with the daily bingo games for the seniors there. A member of Veteran of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, she also helped patien ts at the hospital at Fort Custerd according to her son, Cyril. She w as a member of St. Augustine Cathedral and St. Mary's Catholic Church. Preceded in death by her husband, George, she is survived by her childr en and their spouses, Cyril and Jane Vosters, Floyd Vosters and Joan and R obert Peeters, all of Kalamazoo, 18 grandchildren; several great grandchil dren; several nieces and nephews.

See Image Norbert F. Noie St. Paul Manor Kaukauna Age 92, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2000 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Norbert was born May 30, 1907 in Kaukauna, son of the late Frank and Ne llie (Weyenberg) Noie. He was a 1927 graduate of Kaukauna high school whe re he served as class president and captain of the football team. His coll ege years were spent at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where he w as selected to participate in the Alexander Meiklejohn Experimental Colle ge along with his hometown friend, James McFadden. Norbert was also a memb er of the University Hockey Team.On October 24, 1935 he married the former Adele Wilpolt. She preceded h im in death on October 28, 1997. Norbert was most proud of his commitme nt to the Kaukauna High School Alumni Association. His involvement beg an in 1957 when he assumed the chairmanship for reservations and ticket sa les for that year's Rally. A year later, he was named to the Alumni Boa rd of Directors, and continued as an Alumni Officer for six more year s. He held the top post in the Alumni organization, Chairman of the Boa rd in 1978 and 1979, and had worked on numerous alumni affairs committe es through the years. In 1976, the alumni recognized Mr. Noie's effor ts by dedicating the 1976 issue of the Alumni News in his honor. In 198 7, he received the prestigious Kaukauna High School Alumni Award. He had b een a member of the Alumni Advisory Board since 1965. Norbert was on of t he very first inductees to the Kaukauna High School Athletic Hall of Fam e. Other civic-minded groups that were near and dear to him were the B.P.O .E. Lodge #962 in Kaukauna and Council 1033 of the Knights of Columbu s. A longtime member of St. Mary Parish, Norbert had served as an usher th ere for many years. His employment at the Appleton Papers Locks Mill w as of thirty-seven years duration. He worked as a manager in the personn el department and was also a representative of the company during labor ne gotiations. He helped found the Combined Locks Credit Union and serv ed as its Treasurer for somethirty years. His longtime employment at the Locks Mill gained him members hip in the Quarter Century Club there.Survivors include two sons: Tom Noie, Buffalo Grove, Illinois; and Scott ( Jill) Noie, Oak Creek, Wisconsin; a daughter, Nancie (David) Thompson, Chi cago, Illinois; eight grandchildren: Tom (Jennifer) Noie, Christopher (Jen nifer) Noie, Jennifer Noie, Amy Noie, Patrick Noie, Eric Noie, Brian Noi e, and Sean Noie; two great-grandchildren: Tyler Noie and Abby Noie; two b rothers: Harold Noie, Pound; and George (Audrey) Noie, Appleton; three sis ters: Genevieve Walsh, Kaukauna; Lucille Flynn, Eau Claire; and Lynn (Jame s) Weisgerber, Appleton. The two of them enjoyed 53 years together with the ir children. He worked at the Combined Locks Mill for 43 years and enjoy ed a wonderful 34-year retirement at his Lee Lake home. He treasured spend ing time with his family and especially enjoyed the company of his devot ed companion Putzer. Harold will fondly be remembered for his kind and gen tle heart. He always put others before himself. Biography:
Today is a very sad day for me and I am still trying to process all of the feelings that I am having today.
My dear Grandmother Genevieve Walsh passed away today. I knew that this day was coming for some time but it is really hitting me hard. Even though our contact was not as much as I would have liked over the past few years, we were so very close. I feel like a part of me died today. This blog is for her!

Genevieve Noie was born in Kaukauna Wisconsin on October 24th 1914 and passed on August 29th 2010. She married Melvin Walsh (1915-1987) and lived and raised her family in Kaukauna. She ends a journey and is now in peace and free from pain. She joins Grandpa and Uncle Jim in a much better place and is now watching over us from a better place. She leaves behind three loving children (Mike, Janet and Carol), eleven grandchildren many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

I am really not sure how to process the flood of emotions that I am feeling. For each of the grandchildren I am sure we could each recount dozens of stories about growing up with such a wonderful Grandmother. She had a way that I am sure made us all feel so special. I am going to try to honor her here with some of my stories and my memories.

My earliest memories are of some of the times I spent with my grandparents. When I was a young lad of around 10, I took a trip with both grandparents out west to Colorado to see my Great Aunt Trudie. This was at a time my parents were having issues and to this day I hold that trip so very near and dear to me. I recall the time traveling from Wisconsin to Colorado and then back in the pick-up with the sleeper cab and stopping at what seemed like every KOA with a swimming pool. We would stop for the day and she and I would go swimming. I remember being on the road between my grandparents and she would have the thermos at the ready. I think this will always be one of the best trips of my life.

Memories of each Christmas Eve when they made the rounds! It was one of those things that was as constant as the sun coming up or Santa coming. It was the highlight every year.

The times when I would spend up at the cabin and go swimming in the river with Grandma in her black swimming suit. Then in the evening she would make popcorn the old fashioned way and just spent time. Time I had always treasured but it means just so much more now.

The way that she would say "Now, John …" I think am about to ball just over that!

This is the hardest Blog I think I have ever written. Last year, we had a chance to go back to Wisconsin on our way to the ASA Conference and this allowed us to see my Grandmother again. I kind of knew that it would be the last time I would see her here on this earth but it is just sinking in I will never see her again and it hurts really bad! I can't put into words how much I miss her already. The tears are really coming down, I can barely type. I will treasure those times I spent with her. Justin had met her when he was three on a cruise that we took but did not recall that. During the short time with her, he was able to really see her and gave her a kiss (he was scared at the time) and I will forever treasure that. Ryan will not have the chance to know her here and that makes me sad as well. I really needed this time and I was happy that I got the chance to see her that one last time.

George B. Noie, age 92, of Appleton, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Appleton Medical Center, with his family at his side. George was born on March 14, 1919, in Kaukauna, to the late Frank and Nellie (Weyenberg) Noie, one of nine children. In 1942 he married Audrey Mitchler (Noie) and together they raised their family of four children.

George treasured the time with his family and the great get togethers. He also enjoyed going to the events of the grandchildren and great grandchildren and the good times at their trailer at Evergreen Campsites at Lake Kussel and the trips taken together. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards - especially a poker game - and special memories of having season tickets to the Packer games. He was also a fan of the Badgers, Brewers and Bucks.
George and Audrey enjoyed traveling and going to stage shows at different Performing Arts Centers and Tour Bus trips. They especially enjoyed the 14 winters they spent in Arizona. They also did Arts and Crafts in their spare time and had many craft shows over years.
George is survived by his children, Sheri (Cliff) Doering, Cindy (Tom) Steffl, Jeff (Barbara) Noie, and George Noie, Jr.; his grandchildren, Brian (Susan) Helf, Aericka Helf (Mary Frohna), Chris (Tanya) Steffl, Phil (Ali) Noie, Kim (Jason) Noie, Jordan Noie, Jason Noie; his great grandchildren, Joseph Helf, Alyssa Noie, Carson Adrian, and Ashton Steffl.
He is further survived by his two sisters, Lynn Weisgerber and Peg Flynn; and a very special niece, Lisa Lemberg; seven God children, his sisters-in-law, Jeanne Lemberg and Ethel Mitchler; and his brother-in-law, Dale Mitchler.
George was preceded in death by his siblings, Marie (Oliver) Miller, Gen (Melvin) Walsh, Trudy (Mark) Kubat; his brothers, Norbert (Adele) Noie, Harold (Mirelda) Noie and John (Christine) Noie; his brothers-in-law, Jim Weisgerber, Tom Flynn, Jack Lemberg and Bill Mitchler; and a very dear Godchild, David Lemberg and a nephew Jim Walsh.
George was a longtime member of St. Joseph parish in Appleton where he served as an usher in his younger years. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary, OFM. CAP. officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Madelyn "Maggi" Weisgerber, age 96, of Appleton passed away on November 27, 2017 at a local hospital. Maggi was born July 11, 1921 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Frank and Nellie (Weyenberg) Noie. She attended Holy Cross Elementary School and Kaukauna High School, graduating with the class of 1939. She served her country honorably during WWII as a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. Maggi worked several different jobs over the years, but she especially loved the eighteen years she spent as a crossing guard for the children of Edison Elementary School in Appleton.
In 1946 she married James "Jim" Weisgerber, her "Eternal Love". They enjoyed over fifty-six years together before he passed away on May 24, 2002. Maggi and Jim spent many weekends and summers at their cottage on Lake Poygan. She loved baking cookies and bread for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also an avid Packers, Badgers and Brewers fan.
She will be sadly missed by: her son Richard (Kristine) Weisgerber, grandchildren; Todd (Suzy) Weisgerber and their children Brady, Jakob and Zachary; Amy (Craig) Batley and their children Gavin, Conner, Lauren and Ava; special niece Jan Barnes as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Obituary:
Marion Emmers Horn, age 95, passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Marion was born on May 23, 1916 in Kaukauna, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Weyenberg) Emmers. She was a 1933 graduate of Appleton High School, and a graduate of the first enrolled class of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley. Marion was the longest living member of that class. Shortly after graduating, Marion was married to Elmer Horn; he preceded her in death in 1979.
Marion held a number of different employment positions during her life. She worked at J.C. Penny, Appleton Papers, Northshore Country Club, the Darboy Club, the Appleton VFW, and St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she retired at the young age of 78.
Marion played the French horn with the Lawrence University Band, and took pride in assisting various musicians such as Duke Ellington, and former Packer, Sterling Sharp. She was also an avid fan of the Appleton City Band concerts at Pierce Park for over 40 years.
Marion was the former president of the Christian Ladies of Sacred Heart Parish in Appleton, and was the president, and an integral part of the Appleton High School Reunion committees.
Marion is survived by her children, Mary (Don) Huiting, Appleton, and their children, Dr. Karl (Ann) Huiting, Dave (Amy) Huiting, Ken (fiance Colleen) Huiting, and Gary (Bobbi) Huiting; Herb (Molly) Horn, Sherwood, and their children, Jessica Horn, Michelle (Josh) Hermus, Jenny, Brian, and Steve Horn; Monica Horn, Darboy, and her son, Kris; Cheryl (Bernard Noldner) Horn-Noldner, Appleton, and their children, Aaron and Sheena Noldner; Timothy Horn, Appleton, and his children, Nicole (Randy) Thompson, Timm and Jeff Horn; Steve (Kathy) Horn, Town of Harrison, and their children, Zachary, Adam, Jacob, and Sarah Horn; and Mike (Tina) Horn, Appleton, and their son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Pat Stangfield; nine great-grandchildren, Brianne, Caitlin, Spencer, Mitchell, and Carson Huiting, Jordy and Andrew, and Carter and Lauren Hermus; one brother, Henry (Middy) Emmers; one sister, Honey Schwalbach; and a sister-in-law, Helen Emmers; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was further preceded in death by an infant son, Mark Horn; a brother, Mark Emmers; a sister, Eunice (Joseph) Grishaber; an infant great-granddaughter, Lauren Huiting; and a brother-in-law, George Schwalbach.
The funeral liturgy for Marion will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Friends may call at church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the mass. Interment will take place at Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a fund being established.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Mark Mounajjed and the nurses and staff on the second floor-south at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care, compassion, and support.

Lorraine "Honey" Schwalbach, 95, Little Chute, peacefully took her last breath on July 27, 2015, after spending exactly 35,000 days on earth. She was born to the late Henry and Mary (Weyenberg) Emmers on September 5, 1919. Her mother passed away when she was three years old. She said that's when people said she was a "Little Honey" and the name stuck. She truly was a honey of a person. She married George Schwalbach III on April 30, 1941. They farmed the family homestead until George's death in 1995.
Honey loved playing cards and was always ready for a good game of Cribbage, Sheepshead or Rummy. In fact, she played her last winning cribbage game against her grandson, George, just hours before her passing. She was a member of the Jacob Coppus Post 258 Auxiliary in Little Chute. She always had a smile on her face, enjoyed family and friends and never spoke a negative word about anyone. Honey will truly be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by a daughter, Sansee (Dick) Hietpas; daughter in law, Pat (Greg) Van Zeeland; granddaughters, Lori Hietpas, Amy Daul, Melissa (Jon) Rodon and Heidi Hietpas; grandson, George V (Jessie) Schwalbach; great grandchildren, Amanda, Rob and Niki Daul, Jaide Hietpas, Vince Hietpas, Kailee and George VI Schwalbach; extended grand and great grandchildren, Lace (Ryan), Jax and Breckan Luedke, Peter (Kristin), Max, Marie and Megan Van Zeeland; sisters in law, Helen Emmers and Middy Emmers; as well as many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Irene Remick passed away at 100 years old. She was born June 2, 1913 in Appleton, WI to the late Engelbert and Rose (Weyenberg) Liethen. Irene married William A. Remick on May 15, 1935; they were married for 52 years until his death May 20, 1987.
Sis so enjoyed her family visits, getting together with granddaughters and their husbands, and great-grandchildren. Many memories of fond times. Her interests were the Green Bay Packers, Brewers, bridge, golf and traveling. She was a member of Easter Seal Society, Lady Elks, Meals on Wheels, and St. Patrick's Sanctuary Society.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; three sisters: Eileen, Mary Lois "Mitzi," and Rosemary; and five brothers: Robert, Clarence, Kenneth, Don, and Fran.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia, two granddaughters: Lisa (Mike) Kelly, Mequon, WI; and Kristine (Dan) Horvath, St. Charles, IL; four great-grandchildren: Whitney Kelly, New York, NY; Riley Kelly, Mequon, WI; Danny and Dillon Horvath, St. Charles, IL.
A private family service is being planned.
A very special thanks to her Island Shores caretaker and friend, Renee; ThedaCare Hospice; and Prairie Homes Elder Care.

Liethen, Donald C. - Donald age 85, passed away Sunday August 12, 2007, at his residence. He was born February 19, 1922, in Kaukauna son of the late Bert H. and Rose (Weyenberg) Liethen. He married Helen Blank May 4, 1961, sharing 46 years together. Donald was involved in insurance sales for many years.
Donald is survived by his wife, Helen, of Appleton; a brother: Fran Liethen of Appleton; a sister: Irene Remick of Neenah; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Clarence, Kenneth and Robert and three sisters: Eileen Remick, Rosemary Evers and Mary Lois Recker.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 16, 2007, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with the Rev. Michael O'Rourke officiating. Inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. A memorial fund has been established.

Francis J. "Fran" "Ab" Liethen, 82, Appleton, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at Manor Care in Appleton after a short illness. Fran was born Nov. 15, 1926, in Appleton to the late Englebert and Rose (Weyenberg) Liethen. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, where he starred in football during the 1940s. After turning down football scholarships to major universities, he decided to serve his country in France and Japan with the Merchant Marines and the Fifth Air Force - where he continued to play football. On June 8, 1950, Fran was united in marriage to Mary Johnson. The couple enjoyed 50 years together until her death in 2000. Fran sold cars at Gibson Chevrolet and Neenah Menasha Ford. He then went on to work as an insurance salesman for Prudential and Home Mutual Insurance Company. He received many awards for his outstanding salesmanship during his career. Fran was a huge Packers fan, holding season tickets for over 60 years dating back to the old City Stadium. He liked to travel with his wife, Mary. He also loved to play the slot machines at Oneida Casino, and he enjoyed his trips duck hunting.
Fran is survived by his daughter, Debra (David) Patterson, Wauwatosa; 2 sons, Thomas (Kitty) Liethen, Boise, Id., and Jeffry (Trisha) Liethen, Oshkosh; his sister Irene "Sis" Remick, Neenah. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Fran was preceded in death by his wife; his infant son, Billy; parents; 3 sisters, Eileen, Mary Lois "Mitzi", and Rosemary "Snooks"; 4 brothers, Clarence, Kenneth, Robert and Don "Toup".
A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 27th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with Father Michael O'Rourke officiating.

Carol Gertrude Mollen died December 24, 2011. She was born December 28, 1934 in Appleton, Wisconsin. Her parents were Edward J. Mollen and Gertrude Weyenberg Mollen. Carol grew up in Appleton attending St. Therese School and later St. John High School, Little Chute. In her twenties, she suffered a catastrophic illness which left her partially paralyzed. Over the years, with the help of her dedicated parents, Carol worked with determination to overcome numerous handicaps. She was an artistically talented person, writing poetry, playing the piano and painting. Carol was an avid reader and birdwatcher. Above all she valued people, keeping up a steady, caring correspondence with family and friends. She was a deeply religious person.
Carol had been a long term resident of Our Home K Care in Lac du Flambeau where she benefited from a fine staff and a variety of activities.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Cora L. Mollen, a nephew, David E. Mollen; a niece, Anne M. Small (Scott); and two grand-nieces: Ayla M. Mollen and Caroa A. Mollen.
Following a private remembrance service, burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton, Wisconsin.

Janet Linskens, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, January 6, 2017. Alzheimer's Disease posed a battle that was too great. Janet was born in Kaukauna on November 2, 1934, daughter of the late Jacob and Leone (Krueger) Weyenberg. She was a graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and went on to earn a certificate as an LPN. On June 16, 1956, she married Robert Linskens at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death in 2008.
Jan was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Edward Church in Mackville where she was a member of the Christian Mothers' Society and enjoyed attending daily mass and having breakfast with friends. Jan will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also supported Bob during his three bouts with cancer. Jan enjoyed collecting dolls and giraffes, and was an avid Packer fan. Over the years, she attended many fairs and races as she supported Bob and his hobby of harness racing. In later years, the couple spent their winters at their home in Florida. They looked forward to returning to Appleton to watch their grandchildren play baseball, basketball, and run cross country. In addition, the family spent a week together every August at Telemark in Cable, Wisconsin.
Janet is survived by five children: Phillip (Linda) Linskens of San Marcos, California; James (Kathleen) Linskens of Freedom; Laurie (Brandon) Shock of San Diego, California; Thomas (Jennifer) Linskens of Waupaca; and Dale (Jenna) Linskens of Hortonville. There are also twelve grandchildren: Anna Linskens, Aaron Linskens, Caleb Linskens, Adriana Shock, Adan Shock, Jamie (Jason) Rymer, Derek (Kim) Johnson, Emma Linskens, Hannah Linskens, Olivia Linskens, Trentyn Waring, and Jack Linskens. Jan is also survived by two brothers: Roger Weyenberg of Neenah and Ron Weyenberg (Sandy) of Kaukauna; a sister-in-law: Alice Weyenberg of Manitowoc; and a former daughter-in-law: Jean Biddle of Greenville; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Jan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, and a sister-in-law: Jackie Weyenberg.
The funeral liturgy for Jan will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at ST. EDWARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, Highway 47 North in Mackville, with Rev. Walter Stumpf officiating. Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Family and friends are invited to gather at St. Edward's Church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service. Phyllis (Betters) Craney, age 80, of Kimberly, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016. She was born on October 29, 1935 in Kaukauna to the late Clarence and Naureen (Komp) Liethen. Phyllis graduated from Kimberly High School and then attended Fox Valley Technical College. She was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a business office manager for thirty-two years. Phyllis then retired to Crivitz, Wisconsin where she went back to school and earned her certificate to become an E.M.T volunteer. She along with several other volunteers founded the Twin Bridge Rescue Squad. For many years Phyllis selflessly devoted her heart and soul to serving others.
Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother who was involved in her community and church. She also loved playing Bridge with the ladies at the town hall and Cribbage with her granddaughter, Kelly. Phyllis was also an active member of St. Mary's in Crivitz where many people benefitted from her caring heart.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; her children, Donna Van Roy-Betters and Rob (Cherri) Betters; her seven grandchildren, Kelly (Terry) Thornton -a granddaughter she raised after the death of her beloved daughter Diane at the age of twenty-four, Nick Van Roy, Daryl Van Roy, Katie (Brandon) Ertl, and Zach, Candice and Josh Fischer; three great-grandchildren, Hanna and Hunter Thornton and Addison Ertl. Phyllis is further survived by her sisters, Joyce (Gene) Fenn, Mary (Dick) Radenmacker and Nancy (Dennis) Kilsdonk; her brothers, Wayne (Cindy) Liethen and Gary (Rosie) Liethen; brother-in-law, Tim Trowbridge and daughter-in-law, Tina Betters. She is also survived by seven Craney children and their families, Paul, Peter, Patrick, Perry, Pam, Philip and Peggy.
Her first husband, Howard Betters, preceded her in death on December 18, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her son, Richard Betters; two daughters, Diane Depner and Jo Ann Paul; two brothers, Robert and Jim Liethen and two sisters, Shirley Liethen and Judy Trowbridge.
The funeral liturgy will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly. Visitation will be held on Thursday, starting at 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at church. Inurnment will be held at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly at a later date. Judy A. Trowbridge, (nee Liethen) age 61, while surrounded by her loving f amily, took her smile and spirit from her earthly home on Lakeshore Roa d, Newton, WI, to her eternal home with her Lord on Sunday, August 27, 200 6. She was born of the flesh on January 1, 1945, in Appleton, WI, to paren ts who preceded her in death, Clarence M. and Naureen M. (nee Komp) Liethe n. She graduated from Kimberly High School in 1963, and spent most of h er life at Aid Association for Lutherans (AAL) in Appleton. After 25 yea rs at successor, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, she retired in late 200 0. On September 16, 2000, she married Timothy C. Trowbridge at Wesley Unit ed Methodist Church in Manitowoc and moved into their beautiful new ho me on the lake.
Although diagnosed with terminal gall bladder cancer in 2002, through t he prayers of many people and the mercies of God, Judy was enabled to bri ng and receive joy from her husband, daughters and especially her granddau ghters for more than four years. Many have witnessed the miraculous pow er of the blood of Jesus in granting the extra time to enjoy life. And no w, we celebrate the resurrection power of the bread of life, eternal lif e.

James Francis Liethen, Appleton, age 64, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Jim was born in Appleton on March 4, 1946, son of the late Clarence and Naureen (Komp) Liethen. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1964, and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service to our country, Jim lived and worked his entire life in the Fox River Valley area, having been employed by both the Combined Locks Mill and Valley Packaging. Some of his fondest memories were of fishing for musky on Big Twin and Archibald Lake in northern Wisconsin. He was also an avid fan of the Packers and the Brewers. And he loved every team that beat the Vikings and the Bears.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Nicole Blair, Appleton; two granddaughters: Aubrey and Alexa; four sisters: Joyce (Gene) Fenn, Shawano; Phyllis (Donald) Craney, Crivitz; Mary (Richard) Rademacher, Wichita, Kansas; and Nancy (Dennis) Kilsdonk, Plainfield, Illinois; two brothers: Wayne (Cindy) Liethen, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Gary (Rosie) Liethen, Kimberly; a brother-in-law, Tim Trowbridge, Newton, Wisconsin; three aunts: Irene Remick, Alice Liethen and Helen Liethen; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his neighbors at the Washington Apartments.

Vance Garvey, 66, Freedom, passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2011, following a brief illness. Vance was born in Appleton, on January 4, 1945, son of the late Vance and Delores (Hopfensperger) Garvey. He was a 1963 graduate of the Freedom High School and as a young man, he entered business with his father at Freedom Stove Company. He operated the company for about 20 years and then opened Garvey Sporting Goods and Discount, also in Freedom. For the past 17 years, he owned and operated VG Snacks, a vending route which he serviced every day. This past November, his health forced his retirement.
One word could sum up Vance's life: SPORTS. He loved golf, fishing and coached basketball in Freedom for many years. He played softball and in his younger years, bowled as many as four nights each week. In 2002, he was recognized with the Freedom Friendship Award for his contributions to the Freedom community. After his heart surgery, he slowed down a bit and began to spend time following the sporting events of his grandchildren. Vance loved to play Bingo at St. Thomas More Church, as well as his Tuesday card club.
Vance is survived by his wife, Pat Garvey, whom he married in 1997; and her children, Robert (Jackie) Breese, Appleton; and Coreen Breese, Freedom, and her special friend, Mark Lerquin. Lindberg, Patricia Ann "Pat" (nee Van Abel)
Patricia Lindberg, 63, of Sherwood, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1946, in Hollandtown, the daughter of the late Donald and Bernice (Hopfensperger) Van Abel. Pat married Charles Lindberg on January 4, 1988, at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown. Pat was the co-owner of Van Abel's Supper Club and many will remember her at the family restaurant with her cheerful greeting and smile. Pat was the organist at St. Francis for 40 years. She loved spending many hours with the men's choir and was very proud of being a part of it. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. She graduated from Silver Lake College, Manitowoc. Pat enjoyed crocheting and her hybrid rose garden.
Patricia is survived by her husband: Charles Lindberg; children: Donald (Kathy) Lindberg; Dianne (Paul) Coonen, Charles (Kathy) Lindberg Jr.; David (Susan) Lindberg and Julie (Jeffrey) Baker; thirteen grandchildren; a great-granddaughter: Ella Rose; sisters: Sue and Joan Van Abel and Katie Coenen; nephews: Chris and Lee Coenen; niece and goddaughter: Anne (Pete) Golden and their children Catelyn and Marcus; special cousins: Tim (Nancy), Mike (Diane), John (Joanne) and Patrick (Kristie) Van Abel and Jane (Groucho) Marx.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Earl Coenen, Will, Duff and Jerry Van Abel.
The funeral liturgy for Patricia will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - ST. FRANCIS SITE, Hollandtown. Father Ken Frozena will be officiating. Burial will take place at the parish cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Pat's name.

Sue Van Abel, age 68 of Hollandtown, passed away at her home on Friday morning, February 26, 2016. She was surrounded by those she loved. Sue was born on August 19, 1947, daughter of the late Donald and Bernice (Hopfensperger) Van Abel. She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Sue loved to travel in her younger days and there was no main road for her. Sue was also an integral part of carrying on the family business.
She is survived by two sisters: Katie Coenen and Joan Van Abel; two nephews and a niece: Christopher (fiancée Sara Baciu) Coenen, Ann (Peter) Golden, and Lee Coenen; the bright lights of her life, a great-niece Catelyn Golden; a great-nephew Marcus Golden; a brother-in-law: Charlie Lindberg; and her cousins and partners: Tim (Nancy) Van Abel, Jane (Gary) Marx, Mike (Diane) Van Abel, John "Gus" (JoAnn) Van Abel, and Patrick (Kristie) Van Abel along with many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Pat Lindberg, a cousin Jerry Van Abel, a brother-in-law Earl Coenen, and her aunt and uncle, Will and Duff Van Abel.
The family would like to thank Sue's doctors, great neighbors Floyd and Diane Kempen, Golden Touch Homecare, Vivian Domask, Debbie Laabs, and the incomparable Chris Neumeyer for their loving care and friendship. Gary Huiting, 52 years, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. He was born on February 11, 1964 to his loving parents Donald J. and Mary L. (Horn) Huiting in Appleton. He spent time in his early years, as boys did, playing football with neighborhood friends and family time watching favorite sports. Gary was an employee of SCA Tissue as a machine operator and active in the PACE Union. He liked to follow NASCAR and was skilled at darts. The family travelled to Orlando visiting Universal Studios and catching a race at Talladega along the way. Cheering on his Packers at his home with his family was pure fun. He cherished time with his boys teaching driving and guiding them on their life journey. Most of all Gary loved to be with his family.
On September 7, 1991 at St. Patrick Catholic Church Gary J. and Bobbi A. (Hoehne) Huiting were united in marriage. They settled in Kimberly and raised their family.
Gary will be missed by the love of his life, his wife Bobbi A. (Hoehne) Huiting, children Spencer Huiting and Mitchell Huiting, parents Donald J. and Mary L. (Horn) Huiting, brothers Karl (Anne) Huiting, Dave (Amy) Huiting, Ken (Colleen Kelly) Huiting, brother-in-law Tom (Gwen) Hoehne, sister-in-law Sandy Herzfeldt, God-parents Cheryl Horn-Noldner and Herb Horn. Richard "Rich" J. Betters, age 56, of Sherwood, rode to Heaven on a Harley on Friday, August 29, 2014, at his home after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Rich was born on September 19, 1957, in Appleton, to Phyllis (Liethen) Craney and the late Howard Betters. He was a 1976 graduate of Kimberly High School and received an electrical design degree from Fox Valley Technical College. Rich worked for over 20 years at Valmet-Metso, traveling often for work, and finished his career at Baisch. In the summer of 2002, Rich married the love of his life, Tina Tuyls.
Rich was a smart and talented man that loved wood working, photography and music. He was also an amazing cook and enjoyed taking walks at High Cliff State Park. Rich was an avid sports fan who loved golfing, fishing and cheering on the Packers and the Brewers. As stubborn as he was, Rich always knew what he wanted. He touched everyone he knew and never turned down helping someone. Rich will always be remembered as being humble and kind. He was loved by many and a brother to Tina's family. Rich was a loving husband and was "the Dad he didn't have to be".
Rich is survived by his wife of 12 years, Tina and his daughter, Katy (Brandon) Ertl. He is further survived by his mother: Phyllis (Don) Craney; sister: Donna Betters-Van Roy; brother: Robert (Cherri) Betters; his special niece: Kelly (Terry) Thornton; his sisters-in-law: Judi (Harold) Micke, Patti (Ron) Fleming, and Bonnie Tuyls; brothers-in-law: Roland (late Karen) Tuyls, Gary Tuyls, Tim (Linda) Tuyls, Brian (Pam) Tuyls, Ronnie Tuyls, Greg (Brenda) Tuyls and Dan (Kris) Tuyls; his Godfather Uncle Maury Brockman and his special friend, Roger Stienen. Little Chute - Gary J. Van De Leygraaf, age 55, of Little Chute, passed away unexpectedly as the result of a snowmobile accident on Saturday, February 10, 2018. He was born on April 10, 1962, son of Carol (Hopfensperger) Howen and the late Bob Van De Leygraaf. On May 24, 1985, Gary married Lisa Sonderegger, and together they have shared a wonderful 33 years marriage. They were true soulmates. The love they had for one another was never ending, and they held hands each night before falling asleep.
Gary was a true family man, doing everything he could for his wife and children. He was a great dad. Many memories were made hunting with Tyler and fishing with Katelyn. He taught them many good values, including honesty, good work ethic and always have a little fun.
Gary was very proud of the work he did as a maintenance man for Fox Valley Technical College. He took a lot of pride in his work, his yard, and his family. Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, nature, spending time up north, EAA, his motorcycle, corvette and snowmobile. His unique sense of humor will be truly missed.
