    Dora Smith, age 92, passed away at a Racine hospital on Wednesday, February 4, 2015. Dora was born October 15, 1922, in Appleton, daughter of the late George W. and Bernadette (Archambault) Schumacher. She married Kenneth Smith on June 4, 1941 at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton; Ken preceded her in death on January 24, 1999.
    Dora is survived by her daughter: Carolyn (Daniel) Hechel of Mount Pleasant and by a son: James Smith. There are seven grandchildren: Brian Hechel, Karen (Ben) Blythe, Thomas Hechel, Katie Hechel, Renee Smith, Jimmy Smith, and Nicole Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ken, a daughter Barbara Jean, a brother, and two sisters.
    The funeral liturgy for Dora will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015, at 11:30 AM at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette Street in Appleton. Friends are invited to gather at the church on Friday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the mass. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.     Dorothy Schroeder, age 83, passed away at Appleton Medical Center on Wednesday evening, December 4, 2013, following an illness. Dorothy was born in Appleton on April 22, 1930, daughter of the late George and Beatrice (Archambeau) Schumacher. On August 29, 1953, she married Earl Schroeder, Sr. The couple spent fifty-five wonderful years together until Earl's death in 2008. They were blessed with five children: Earl (Debra) Schroeder Jr. of Greenville; Cynthia (Larry) Nussbaumer of Appleton; Michael (Rumi) Schroeder of Hilbert; Ricky (Michele) Schroeder, Sr. of Appleton; Pamela (Don) Nielson of Forest Junction; her grandchildren: Laura Schroeder, Lisa (Ken) Krause, Eric Schroeder, Kim (Clint) Seidl, Terry (Arry) Nussbaumer, Nicole Nussbaumer, Kayla Schroeder, Joshua Schroeder, Ashley Schroeder, Emelia Schroeder, Allyn Schroeder, Ricky Schroeder, Jr., Dale (Wendy) Nielson, Amy (Robert) Ruelle, and Jenny Nielson; twenty three great-grandchildren; a sister: Dora Smith of Appleton; three sisters-in-law: Nancy Schroeder, Joan Schroeder, and Ann Schumacher; and a longtime and dear friend: Adris Butler. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, a son Gary (Lee) Schroeder, a sister Betty Dreier, a brother Robert Schumacher, and brothers-in-law Kenneth Smith, Robert Schroeder, Norbert Schroeder, Rich Gloudemans, and Larry Dreier.
    Dorothy enjoyed traveling around the country and spending time outdoors at the cottage. There she loved to feed the wild animals, walk her dogs, camp, fish, and make an occasional visit to the casino. Most of all, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family meant the world to her, and she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
    The Christian Funeral for Dorothy will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street in Appleton, with Rev. Kenneth Frey officiating. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the church on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.     Robert Joseph "Bob" Schumacher, age 71, Temple, GA, formerly of Appleton passed away at home Wednesday, April 11, 2007, after a courageous three-year battle with liver cancer and COPD. Bob fought a battle that couldn't be won but never gave up the hope. He died surrounded by the love of his family. Bob was born on September 12, 1935, in Appleton, the youngest of four children, and only son born to the late George and Bernadette (Archambeau) Schumacher. On November 29, 1958, he made the best choice of his life when he married Ann Bekkers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, WI, and was looking forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary. Bob was a hard-working and faithful husband. Fun-loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and true friend.
    Bob proudly served his country in the National Guard, than enlisting in the U.S. Navy's Air Force in November 1956, and served until receiving an honorable discharge in November 1960. Bob worked 30 years for the City of Appleton. Retiring in 1990, and enjoyed many years of retirement. Living in Appleton most of his life, being a chartered member of St. Bernard Catholic Church until moving to Temple, GA, in June 2001. He enjoyed his grandchildren's sleepovers, time spent spoiling them, and playing games with them outside, and on his computer. Bob loved listening to his collection of audio taped old radio shows, collecting and making many toys, especially for his grandchildren.
    Bob will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 48 years Ann, and their four children: Kathy (David) Long, Aberdeen, SD; Ronald (Jennifer) Schumacher, Hiram, GA; Sherry (Daniel) Bahr, Powder Springs, GA; Donald (Kristi) Schumacher, Tacoma, WA; three grandchildren: twins Adam and Ashley, Powder Springs, GA; and Rachel, Tacoma, WA; one step-grandson, Graham, Hiram, GA; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Dorothy M. (Earl) Schroeder, and Dora L. Smith, both of Appleton. Bob is also survived by Ann's family: Peter (Carol) Bekkers, Frank (Judy) Bekkers, and John (Bev) Bekkers. Sister Alberta Bekkers, Mary Bekkers, Hattie (Gene) Berg, Marge (Thomas) Feavel, Pauline (Roy) Vandenberg; niece and goddaughter Barbara Babino, who was very special to her Uncle Bob; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many special friends; including his dog Patch, his cat Lucky, and her kittens Scrappy and Shadow.
    Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty (Drier), brother-in-law Keneth Smith, mother-in-law Waltera (Van Nuland) Bekkers, father-in-law Albert Bekkers, and his first dog Rex.
    The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. J. Elisberg, for his excellent care before Bob moved to Georgia. To his present PCP, Dr. E. Gonzalez and Dr. Palin and their staff, to his Oncologist, Dr. D. Miller, Hospice VistaCare, especially Nurses Peggy and Britni for all the loving care and kindness they showed Bob during his final days.
    It was Bob's final wish to be cremated, and to have a small Memorial Service. We are honoring those wishes. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, by Rev. Adrian Pleus, at 3 p.m., at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 680 West Memorial Drive, Dallas, GA 30132. Immediate family will greet family and friends at the Church from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests masses to be said for Bob. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
    Dad, you were a loving, hard-working and caring person who helped Mom bring us up with strong values and good character. You will never be forgotten. You will always have a special place in our hearts.
