Obituary:
Shirley Willems, age 72, of Appleton, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at St Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton. Shirley was born on June 29, 1942, in Bear Creek, to the late Clark and Helen (Pelky) Hammond.

Shirley enjoyed being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed time spent with her friends Rose Ann and Carol.

Survivors include her children, Harry (Brenda) Willems, Menasha; Jean Petit, Kaukauna; Mark (Carrie) Willems, Clintonville; Sandy (Mike) Hefner, Appleton; and Shawn Willems, of Appleton; her 13 grandchildren, Cindy, Corinna, Crystal, Sara, Jennifer, Kayla, Jada, Alyssa, Jonathan, Ashlee, Tom, Tim and Abi; her 9 great grandchildren, Claudia, AJ, Tasha, Dennis, Devon, Ethan, Cody, Autumn, and Rowan; and her brothers, Don, Ed, Roger, and Clark. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Joan and Betty; her brother David; and son-in-law Bruce.

The Funeral Liturgy will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014, at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 W. Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Fr. Jim Leary, O. F. M. Cap. officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the ICU at St. Elizabeth hospital for their loving care. A memorial has been established in her name.
