    Deltgen, William J., AppletonAge 61, passed away Monday, December 10, 2001, at his home, following a sh ort battle with cancer. Bill was born April 14, 1940 in Appleton, the s on of the late Lester and Althea (Donlinger) Deltgen. Bill resided in Appl eton for most of is life and was a 1958 graduate of Appleton High Schoo l. On August 1, 1959 he was united in marriage to Carol Peters in Dubuqu e, Iowa, sharing 42 years together. Bill was employed by the Appleton Fi re Department for 28 years, retiring in 1990. Bill was a veteran serving w ith the US Army 32nd Division during the Berlin Crisis. He was a faithf ul and active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Appleton, Past Wo rshipful Master of Appleton Lodge #349 F&AM, member and newsletter edit or of Appleton Elks Lodge #337, former member of the National Ski Patro l, and former Drum Major of the Highlander Wisconsin and Michigan Band. Bi ll enjoyed photography and took wedding pictures for 14 years. He wi ll be remembered as a faithful good person. One you could count on.Bill will be deeply missed by his wife Carol; step mother Jean Deltgen, Me nasha; sister-in-law, Marie (Jim) Steward, Black Creek; brother-in-law, La rry (Joanie) Peters, Black Creek; also nieces, nephews, other relatives a nd dear friends. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in dea th by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sylvia and Melvin Peters.Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, December 13th at Our Sav iour's Lutheran Church, 3009 N. Meade Street, Appleton, with Reverend Denn is Ellisen officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park. Frien ds may call directly at the church from 4 p.m. Thursday until the ti me of the service. The Elks Memorial service will be at 6:30 pm.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
