    Robert A. Van Dyn Hoven, "Super Bob", 83, Appleton, passed away on Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, at his home. He was born on July 13, 1928, in Little Chute, son of the late Henry and Florence (Romenesko) Van Dyn Hoven. On Sept. 30, 1950, Bob was united in marriage to Arlene Schuh and she survives.
    Bob was a resident of the Appleton area his entire life. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Appleton. He opened "Bob's Super Service", a full service Skelly gas station in 1953. He worked his whole life fixing and repairing people's vehicles. Bob enjoyed fishing, hunting, and baking, especially banana bread.
    Mr. Van Dyn Hoven is survived by two sons, Mike (Karen), Briarton, Wis.; and Tim (Karen), Richfield, Wis.; a daughter, Vickie Van Dyn Hoven (Glen Seidl), Junction City, Wis.; five grandchildren, Nathan Robert Van Dyn Hoven, Jacob Donald Van Dyn Hoven, Jeff Welch, Matt (Lorna) Pengrazi, and Katie (Travis) Hoernke; great-grandchildren, Amelia Beth Van Dyn Hoven, Blake Robert Van Dyn Hoven, Courtney Welch, Julia Pengrazi, Jovi Pengrazi, Jett Pengrazi, Journey Pengrazi, Ava Elizabeth Hoernke, and Isabelle Grace Hoernke; a great-great-grandson, Brayden Welch; four brothers, Raymond "Wimp" (Margaret "Muggs"), Lloyd, Carl (Alicia), and Daniel "Digger" (Mary Alice) Van Dyn Hoven. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and special friends, Dennis and Valerie Douglas.
    Preceding him in death were his parents; a brother, Kenny; a sister-in-law, Cecilia Van Dyn Hoven; and a great-grandson, Jager Pengrazi.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State St., Appleton, with Fr. Dave Funk, O.F.M. Cap celebrating. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Bob's name.
    The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Shelly and Eva, as well as all others who cared for Bob.
    The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna, is assisting the family. (766-2099)
