Thank you so much Lori. As stated previously I am unrelated to these people. I am working on Jay Wilpolt's website called 1Familytree.com, which is the genealogy of all families who have ties to the Fox Cities. Celia & Jerome were listed on his site.
What I do not understand is - Celia was living with her grandparents & FATHER? in the 1910 census-Why were her siblings not living three also? Why were the children placed in the Orphans home to begin with IF her Father was still alive? You would think the grandparents or his siblings would take the kids in. So Celia's Parents are Antone & Marie Tuscherer Wettengel? Yes Ok that makes more sense than Antone & Barbara as Ancestry seems to claim These are grand parents. This line is fascinating. Yes this is very interesting.
Well this is odd. I did some checking in the new family search database (much better than their old one.) According to https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/XRGD-WQH Anton Wettengel and Mary Tuscherer were married on January 27, 1891. Their youngest child Rose was born in 1897, but by 1900 Anton is living with his parents with no wife or children https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MMKB-6PP . I searched for Mary and found she was in Winnebago mental hospital in 1900 (Northern Hospital for the Insane) https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MM2T-FSK
So, he returns to live with his parents and lets the kids go to an orphanage. How sad. She seems to appear again in society in Outagamie County in 1930 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/X9SC-DP3 and 1920 https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/MF2H-V96 .
Cecilia had a rough life it would seem. Her mother had 3 husbands, at least one abusive. I don't know how well she liked Jerome. She was into lots of trouble in his life. If you check out Jerome Fry on my web at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kuykendall2fry/otie_kuykendall.htm. you will see that he murdered 2 people (self defense it says). He seems to have left his first wife with kids for my g Grandma Otie who had been the babysitter. Celia appears to have been his baby sitter after he and Otie divorced (what grounds I do not know, I should check the Appleton Courthouse records - it might be interesting). But there is a 30 year age gap with Cecilia and Jerome? All I know is that the Mader family (my great aunts Peal Mader and Cecil Frye are buried in the same plot area) will put flowers on all the graves but ignore Jerome's. No one will talk about him but his children really didn't like him at all for some reason. The full photo of him I have on the web page where he is standing with a water tower behind him (this was taken by Goodland Field in Appleton) is the only full shot I have found of him. Interestingly enough, my Grandmother had torn it down the center. If you look close you can see I photo shopped it but there is still the tear showing on his face through his right eye. They really didn't like him. I don't know if there had ever been abuse or what, but I hope Cecilia had a good life with him. Jerome's son Frank (my step grandpa) was an Appleton Police officer and is the oldest unsolved murder in Winnebago County. He was retired and working for a hotel in Appleton during the night shift. He was abducted and found shot on the roadside in 1969. The murder still has not been solved. I was 11 when he was killed but remember him well.
Again thank you so much for all your great helpJ
    Kathy
I'm attaching a word document for the Wettenger family with my documentation. If you can't open the format, let me know. It is docx and some people don't have that software. I can save it another way too. Also I have Jerome's obit if you need that.

    Obituary:
Schucknecht, Evelyn Myrtle, nee Kruse, (Mrs. Wilbert Schucknecht)
God called Evelyn into open, loving arms peacefully on Thursday, December 27, 2007, with her family present at Theda Clark Medical Center. Evelyn was born January 2, 1922, in Appleton, the daughter of George Theodore and Celia Marie (Wettengel) Kruse. She was raised by her step father Jerome Frye and her Mom. They resided in the Shiocton area, Green Bay, and Appleton. She lived in Appleton most of her life. Evelyn enjoyed both farm and city life. She worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills and at Scoldy Lox, a Scolding Locks Hair Pin Corporation. After a five year courtship, she was united in marriage to Wilbert Schucknecht on June 8, 1946, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton. Early Evelyn and Wilbert enjoyed playing Sheepshead, dancing at the Cinderella, Pierce Park's annual 4th of July celebration, gardening, roses, and being with family, relatives and friends. Mom worked cleaning houses and at night she and Wilbert cleaned offices. She was a hard worker. Mom said she was the happiest and felt the best when she was with child. They were blessed with two children. Proverbs 31:28 - Her children arise and call her blessed. First Corinthians 13:4-7 described Mom the best - Love is patient, love is kind...
Love of her family was so strong. We sensed she knew something when one of her last sentences was "I am afraid to go to bed - I don't want to go to sleep and die - I am old. I won't see you anymore. You're such nice kids."
Mom, you were our best friend, our Matriarch. As long as we can remember, you made sure we had three meals a day together. You were an excellent cook, canner and baker. We loved your canned pickled beets, ground cherries and jams. When we were sick you were always at our bedside. We returned the favor when you were ill. You were frugal too, knowing just what to spend to get the groceries needed to make a fine meal. After Dad passed in 1984, we became even more close. Mom, you always had advice and support for our worries and fears. You went along with Ken and Marilyn to steam engine and horse shows. Mom loved going to church and out to eat, car day trips and picnics. She liked to have fun and get out of the house, even to go for ice cream. Mom helped us with everything - doing what she could. She was always giving something to somebody; a rose, tomatoes or vegetables from the garden, canned goods or a jar of homemade jam. She taught us to give.
The last few years, Mom battled with many health concerns. She went through several foot surgeries, cancer radiation and saw many, many doctors. Last December, when the doctors said she would die, she rallied and fooled them all. They called her amazing! She'd said she wanted to get well and go to church and by God she attended church that next Sunday, and every Sunday after for almost a year. This past December 16th was the last service she attended. She told us she so enjoyed seeing both pastors and everybody else at church. Her favorite TV shows were Regis, Little House on the Prairie, the Price is Right with Bob Barker and Jeopardy. She also loved watching movies with us. She enjoyed reading and her mind was always sharp. Her last month was in a care center and she enjoyed playing bingo, Wii video bowling, spending Thanksgiving with us and Abby, attending a Christmas music program, and walks "around the gym" as how she described therapy. She told us it felt good to walk again. Evelyn will be missed by Marilyn, Kenneth, pets Jubilee and Abby, many nieces and nephews, good friends and neighbors.
Mom will join others who have passed. Her parents George and Celia; her stepfathers, Jerome Frye and August Roloff; husband Wilbert; sister, Marie (Harry, Sr.) Vanden Bush; her father and mother-in-law, Edward and Ida (Korth) Schucknecht; brothers and sisters-in-law: Harry and Mathilda, Harvey and Edith, Clarence and Gertrude, and Esther Schucknecht; Hilda Peotter Berndt; and pets, Pepita and Scotty; and many others.
Mom was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1952. She even enjoyed a special chilly Christmas Eve service in a stable.
Funeral services for Evelyn will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2007, at TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH ELCA, 209 South Allen Street, with Revs. Kurt and Mary Beth Kovanen officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday until the time of services directly at the church. Graveside committal services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 31, at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Evelyn's name may be sent to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, health care providers, hospitals, care centers, and therapists who helped Mom over the years.
A precious one from us is gone, a voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant which never can be filled. God in His wisdom has recalled the boon his love had given And though the body slumbers here, the soul is safe in heaven. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
    Mother
God made a wonderful Mother. He made her eyes so caring. He made her smile of the sunshine. He molded her heart of pure gold. He made her nearly an angel, as anyone ever could be. God made a wonderful Mother, and He gave that dear Mother to us. Love you Mom. We will miss you too! See you in Heaven! Marilyn and Kenneth.
