    Obituary:
Loderbauer, Helen M.Helen Loderbauer, 85, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 21, 20 05 at St. Paul Elder Services, where she had resided the past two years. S he was born July 16, 1919 in Duluth, Minnesota, daughter of the late Ca rl and Anna (Falk) Gabrielson. Helen married Joseph Loderbauer Sr. on Apr il 20, 1937 in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death on November 26, 1977. S he and her husband operated a dairy farm in rural Kaukauna for forty year s. Helen's family and friends will always remember her warm and friendly s mile, her kindness, generosity, and her close relationship with God. She g ave of herself constantly her entire life. Helen loved flowers, cooking, s ewing, and most of all sharing time with her family. She waited anxious ly for the holiday season with the anticipation of preparing a huge meal a nd having family and any one else who needed a place to go around her tabl e. Her family meant the world to her, and she and her husband gave their a ll to them. Strangers were always welcomed at their door. After losing h er beloved husband in 1977, she pursued a career as a banquet cook at Hi gh Cliff Supper Club for several years. Here she was a "mom" to her young er co-workers. Helen loved people, and continued to meet new people as s he traveled around the state for nearly twenty years with family, selli ng her homemade crafts, mostly pillows. She sewed over two thousand of th em over the years. Helen was part of a prayer chain at church and sent o ut hundreds of cards to church members. She had a zest for life, even aft er losing her first leg at the age of seventy-five. She continually bright ened someone's day with calls, visits, or special gifts. Everyone who cros sed her path will sadly miss her, but we are all happy that she is at pea ce with our heavenly Father and other family members. Helen enjoyed visiti ng the sick and the elderly, and truly appreciated everything God had giv en to her. Even at her worst, she said, "It could be worse." Helen also en joyed an occasional trip to the casino with her family, mainly becau se of the people she could chat with around her. She enjoyed those tri ps a little more when she won a little! Helen knew that life was mea nt to be lived and shared with others. She is survived by five children: Joseph (Donna) Loderbauer of Menasha; Mi ke (Connie) Loderbauer of Appleton; Sr. Jane Marie Loderbauer of Kaukaun a; Betty (Huguener) Bastia of California; and Joan (David) McCormick of Me nasha. The family tree grew with the addition of eleven grandchildren: Shi rley (Albert) Schmidt, Robert (Kris) Loderbauer, Richard (Stephanie) Loder bauer, Sherry Loderbauer, Karen Loderbauer, Karl (Kim) Loderbauer, Shar on (Paul) Younger, Sue (Randy) Graham, Tina Brighum, Tim Loderbauer, and A ngela McCormick. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren; a s ister: Esther Loderbauer of Kaukauna, and a brother: Clifford (Ginny) Api tz of Shawano. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, t wo brothers, a sister, a daughter-in-law, and four brothers-in-law, and th ree sisters-in-law.It was Helen's own wish to be cremated and to have no visitation. She al so requested that rather than sending flowers, contributions may be ma de to a memorial fund that has been established. A memorial mass will be h eld at 10 AM on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at ST. ALOYSIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, co rner of Main Avenue and Ann Street in Kaukauna with Fr. David Schmidt offi ciating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call di rectly at the church on Saturday, June 4 from 8:30 a.m. until the ho ur of the service. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Gregory Johnson, t he entire staff of St. Elizabeth Hospital, and especially to all of the wo nderful people who cared for mom during her stay at St. Paul Elder Service s. You helped us through a difficult time.We love you mom, for your wonderful example and pray that we can try to ma ke you proud by following in your footsteps.Greenwood Fargo Funeral Home 500 Hendricks Avenue Kaukauna 920766-6201 www.fargofuneralhomes.com

    Obituary:
Betty Bastia (Loderbauer), 62, a missionary in Haiti, served others and the Lord her entire life and was taken to heaven for a well-deserved rest on Dec. 20, 2014. Joseph and Helen (Gabrielson) Loderbauer Sr. welcomed Betty into the world May 9, 1952. Her dream of helping others started after graduation from Marion College with high honors as a registered nurse in 1974. She worked in the nursing field over 30 years and her lifelong dream to become a missionary and find the perfect soulmate to spread God's word came in Haiti in 2000. God blessed her with Huguener Bastia and they were united in marriage on January 5, 2001, in Haiti. Pastor Huguener and Betty started Calvary Chapel of Caneille in September 2005. Some of their accomplishments include building a church, living facilities for groups that come to help, a school, office and growing a large family of faithful followers. Betty as the organizer and Huguener the visionary, Calvary Chapel in Caneille grew quickly and they are known across the country. Betty was known as "Mama" by people in the area because of her motherly love and care she gave continuously to everyone. She loved teaching God's word and American things like cooking, baking and how to color Easter eggs. The hours were long and conditions not the most comfortable, but she loved her missionary life with Huguener.
Betty will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 13 years, Huguener Bastia, Caneille, Haiti; brothers, Joe Loderbauer, Menasha; Michael (Connie) Loderbauer, Appleton; sisters, Sr. Jane Marie Loderbauer, Manitowoc; and Joan (David) McCormick, Menasha. Residing in Haiti, mother-in-law, Josenie (Almonor) Bastia, brothers-in-law, Odanel (Elange) Bastia, Marckenson Bastia, Guywadson Bastia and sisters, Ismane and Guerline Bastia. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews here and in Haiti and by her godchild, Angela (Travis) Krause. She is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Helen (Gabrielson) Loderbauer, father-in-law, Nolaque Bastia and sisters-in-law, Maude and Donna Loderbauer and numerous aunts and uncles.
Betty's wish was to be buried in Haiti. A memorial service for family and friends will be Saturday, Jan. 24, at Calvary Chapel Appleton, 2136 East Newberry St., where she began teaching bible classes and spreading God's love to others many years ago. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 with the service to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Betty's name for continued missionary work in Haiti.
