    Obituary:
    Selig, Timothy D.
Timothy Selig, 61, Appleton, died unexpectedly on Friday, May 15, 2009, at the Appleton Medical Center. Tim was born in Appleton on Nov. 26, 1947, the son of Carleton Selig of Appleton and the late Marie (O'Neil) Selig. He attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Xavier High School in 1965. For twenty-four years, Tim was employed at North Central Technical College in Wausau, and retired nine years ago. During that time, he and his former wife Linda, participated in the exchange program and over the years housed many foreign students. Even though Tim was confined to a wheelchair, he refused to let that stop him from getting where he needed to go. He traveled all over Appleton using his electric transportation. Tim was a resident at Oneida Heights, and will be missed by everyone in the community there. He was loved by them all, and was currently on the ballot to serve another term as the Resident Council President. Tim loved computers, and entered many online contests daily. You can be sure that over the years, he won plenty!
Survivors include his father, Carleton Selig, Appleton; three sons, Shawn (Judy) Selig, Grand Junction, Colo., Steve P. Selig, Los Angeles, and his fiancee Megan; and Scott (Jody) Selig, Rochester, Minn.; five grandchildren, Kyle, Nicholas, Christopher, Hannah, and Emma; three brothers, James Selig, Winneconne; Charles Selig, Palm Bay, Fla., and his friend Ray; and Steven N. Selig, Appleton, and his friend Kathy; a sister, Sharon (Tim) Gunther, Appleton; and his former wives, Linda Olson and Margaret Fairchild. There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Tim was preceded in death by his mother Marie in 1997 and his brother Bill in 2007.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton with Fr. Norman Krutzik officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday morning from 10 AM until the hour of the service.
Tim was a good friend to all and will be missed by all who enjoyed his sense of humor and sometimes even his stubborn n nature.
