    Obituary:
Andrew R. Meyer, age 34, of Lake Mills, WI, formerly of Little Chute, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2013, with family, friends, and coworkers on vigil by his side. His brief illness ended unexpectedly due to an unrelated cerebral blood clot.
Andrew was born October 7, 1978 in Appleton, WI, to parents Gary and Robbie Meyer. On July 16, 2007, Andy was united in marriage to Megan Laws. After receiving his Master of Biomedical Engineering Degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Andy continued to work at the Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation Engineering Center with Dr. Gerald F. Harris.
In 2008, Andrew began his career with Trek Bicycle as a wheel engineer, which quickly became his passion and provided him with his first opportunities to travel outside the country to Asia and Europe. A great lover of nature, conservation, and the simple life, he chose to forego a second car in the family so he could fully embrace his cherished daily bike commute and not waver in his dedication.
Andy, as he was known to friends and family, was known for his generous, solid, steady, helpful, intelligent, adventurous, and humor-filled presence. Always ready to lend a hand, he was never daunted by a new challenge, joyfully embracing problems that might stop others in their tracks. As a minister friend of the family stated so aptly after his death, "Andy was one of the few people I've ever known who didn't have a lot of unnecessary attachments or unfinished business on this earth. He lived a clean life, was clear about his priorities, and lived them with great passion."
Andrew is survived by his wife, Megan Laws; parents Gary & Robbie Meyer; sister & brother-in-law, Angie & Tom Brockman; brother & sister-in-law, Kenny & Carrie Meyer; sister-in-law, Susan Conner; nieces and nephews, Lily, Ella, & Ryan, Sam & Hannah, and Elijah; grandmothers, Pearl Meyer and Mary Lou Peerenboom; aunts & uncles, Nancy & Gino Frassetto, Dan & Lynn Peerenboom, Donna & Don Phelan, Bill & Jackie Peerenboom, Kathy Mauss, Bob Jensen, Tom & Elaine Meyer, Carol & Paul Morse, Dean & Sue Meyer, Laurie Meyer-Hietpas; and countless other relatives and friends.
Andy was preceded in death by grandfathers Robert Peerenboom and Maurus Meyer; aunt Bonnie Jensen; uncle Donald Mauss; cousins Luke Peerenboom, Alena Frassetto, and Lisa Meyer; and Megan's parents, John & Nancy Laws.
Visitation Wednesday May 29, 2013 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 3:30 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. NO FLOWERS PLEASE. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
Family and friends will gather in the afternoon on Friday, June 7, to honor Andy with a memorial bike ride along Andy's daily route to Trek Bicycle headquarters in Waterloo, WI.
Andy expressed a strong desire to be an organ donor and his final wishes were granted, saving the lives of many recipients.
In Andy's honor, memorial gifts may be directed to Dream Bikes of Madison. Dream Bikes is a non-profit organization that partners with local youth organizations to provide practical skills to low-income teens. http://dream-bikes.org/.
