    Obituary:
David Paalman, Appleton, age 69, has gone home to his loving Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 2, 2008. There was a joyous reunion with his father Henry, mother Lucille and son Scott. David was born January 16, 1939, in Oshkosh, WI. In his early childhood the family moved to Appleton where he attended school and enjoyed a full life. He served the country he loved with pride and courage in the U.S. Marine Corp. After 40 years of service as a Millwright, he retired from U.S. Paper. Hunting, fishing and the Packers brought much joy and a little frustration at times to his life.
David loved his family very much and expanded the family Dec. 2, 1983, when he married Jo Ann. They were blessed with 24 happy years together. He is also survived by his daughter Kellie (Hal) Thon, his son Michael, those that knew him as dad Tim and Kim Martzahl, Lou Ann and Jim Lundholm, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother-in-law Larry (Ruth) Mueller, loyal companion Sam, aunts, uncles and cousins.
David was a member at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Town of Center. A Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hwy. 47, Appleton, with the Rev. Jeffery Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin officiating. Full military honors will follow. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, and directly at the church on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Salvation Army.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jim and Karen, Leslie, Nick, Affinity Hospice staff and nurses for their kindness, care and concern.
