    Biography:
    FRED BOHL, who during a. long and active career was engaged in agricultural pursuits in Outagamie county, has now retired and is living in Appleton in the enjoyment of the fruits of his many years of labor. Born in Germany, June 6, 1849, he is a son of John and Marie (Schroeder) Bohl, natives of the Fatherland who came to the United States with their family in 1866, and located in Outagamie county. John Bohl purchased land in Center township, and after clearing his property from the timber, moved to Ellington township ,where he spent the remainder of his life in farming. He was very successful in his agricultural operations, and became one of the substantial farmers and much esteemed citizens of his section. Four children were born to John and Marie Bohl, of whom one is deceased, and Fred was the second in order of birth. Fred Bohl received his education in the schools of Center township, and as a youth worked on his father's farm, being reared to the life of an agriculturist which he followed during all the years of his activity. In 1881 he took charge of the home place in Center township, and in 1894 accompanied his parents to Ellington township, where he was engaged in general farming until his retirement in 1907. In 1911 he disposed of this excellent property. Mr. Bohl was married in 1873, to Amelia Winters, who was born in Germany and came to the United States with her parents. Of the nine children born to this union, four are deceased, and those surviving are as follows: John, August, Annie, Charles and Fred. Mr. and Mrs. Bohl are members of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He is very much interested in educational work and has given his influence to any movement of an educational nature that has been forwarded in this section. For a number of years he was a member of the township board in Ellington township.

    John Bohl 307 E. Winnebago St. Age 86. passed away at 9 a m Thursday. He was born August 8. 1878 in the Town of Center He farmed in the Town of Ellington prior to his retirement 35 years ago. at which time he moved to Appleton. He was a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church Mr. Bohl is survived by his wife. Anna, one daughter. Mrs. Howard (Emily) Parker, Hortonville. one daughter- in-law. Mrs. Linda Bohl. Rt 2, Appleton. one brother. Charles. Appleton, one sister, Mrs. Anna Gosse, Appleton,10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p m Saturday at St Paul Ev. Lutheran Church with the Rev Hogey Rerqholz officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Friday until 10 a m Saturday and then at the chin cli until the hour of the service. A memorial fund is being established.

    Victor Bohl, 36, Ellington, Dies Was Member of District School Board: Rites Saturday
    Ellington - Victor Bohl, 36, member of the town of Ellington district school board, died at 10:15 this morning at his farm home after a 4-day illness. He was born Jan. 8, 1904. in the town of Ellington. Surviving are the widow; his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Bohl, Appleton: two sons. LeRoy, Allen, at home: a sister. Mrs. Howard Parker, route 2, Black Creek. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Ellington Lutheran church by the Rev. E. Redlin. Burial will be in the Ellington cemetery. The body may be viewed at Brettschneider Funeral home, Appleton, Thursday afternoon and evening and at the residence after Friday morning.

    Rita Ann Tiedt, nee Parker, Kimberly, age 73, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2007, at her residence surrounded by loved ones in Kimberly. Rita was born on April 7, 1934, in the Town of Center to the late Howard and Emily (Bohl) Parker.
    Rita was also preceded by her brothers; Dean Parker of Alexandria, VA, Tim Parker of New London, Ted Parker of Menasha, Leon Parker of Stevensville, Larry Parker of Plainfield and Glen Parker of Milwaukee. Rita was a graduate of Hortonville High School. She worked for many years in production at Rich's Bakery in Appleton.
    Rita will be sadly missed by her daughter, Bethann Haug and Scott of Appleton, brother, Don (Margaret) Parker of Hortonville, grandchildren: Nicole (James) Nelson of Appleton; Michael Wallace of Appleton; Mark Burton of Appleton; Brock Burton of Maud, TX; Brittany Burton and Carlnell of Appleton; Brandon Burton and Hannah of Appleton; great-grandchildren: Taylor Elizabeth Nelson, Tyler Cole Burton, many nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and especially great-grandchild Connor Odonn Nelson who meant so very much to her.
    Funeral Services for Rita will be held on Friday, August 24, 2007, at 7 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home (537 North Superior Street) with Pastor Vicki Simon officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 25, 2007.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all their care for Rita.
