    Marie A. De Bruin, 91, Little Chute, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital with family by her side. She was born in Little Chute, on Aug. 22, 1918, to the late Peter and Catherine (Maas) Verhoeven. Marie married Antone P. De Bruin on Feb. 14, 1946, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, where she was a lifelong member. He preceded her in death May 15, 1989.
    Marie was a devoted wife, loving mother and wonderful grandmother. She loved her children and grandchildren and her support and encouragement were never-ending. Marie's faith was also very important to her and she lived it every day.
    Marie always looked forward to get-togethers and holidays and would often cook a large meal for her family. She also loved spending time outside and tending to her garden. The summer months were her favorite when she could enjoy fresh strawberries, garden vegetables and home-grown apples.
    Marie is survived by her children, Alvin "Butch" (Virginia), Appleton; Gerald (Diane), Little Chute; Robert (Patricia), Little Chute; Linda (John) Schuh, Little Chute; and William (Sidney), Texas; grandchildren, Wendy (Rick) Gilbertson, Tricia (Andy) Yeager, Peggy (Todd) Brokl, Jill (Luke) Markus, Kristen (Scott) Everson, Sarah (Jozef) Michalski, John (Miranda), Anne and Katie Schuh, Mike (fiancee, Bobbi Jo), Rob, Caitlin, Dominic, Nicolet, Nate and Anthony De Bruin; six great-grandchildren with two on the way; and brother and sisters-in-law, Myron "Bud" Meulemans, Ceil Nelessen and Rita De Bruin. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amy De Bruin; sister, Frances Meulemans; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard (Margaret), Quintin (Joan) and Urban De Bruin, Benedict (Jen) Hoersch, Urban (Betty) and Clarence Nelessen.
    Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010, beginning at 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m. at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute). The Rev. Paul Vanden Hogen will officiate. Committal St. John Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.

    Meulemans, Frances G. (Verhoeven)
    Frances G. Meulemans, Kaukauna, age 88, was taken by the Angels to be in the loving arms of her parents, especially her mother who was taken from her at birth. She was born on April 26, 1920, the daughter of the late Peter and Gertrude (Maas) Verhoeven. On August 17, 1944, she married her husband, Myron Meulemans. Frances took pride in staying home and raising her family. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
    Frances is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Myron; children: Judy (Fred) Spietz of Kaukauna, Noreen Meulemans and special friend, Gary of Menasha, Sandy (Rod) Cotter of Universal City, TX, Ken (Betty) Meulemans of Kaukauna, Mary (Kevin) Webster of Appleton, and Karen (Dennis) Lamers of Brillion; eleven grandchildren: Dan (Amy) Spietz, Jim (Jean) Spietz, Bob (Jill) Spietz, Lori (Mark) Herzfeldt, Michelle (Charles) Gaitz, Sara Cotter, Kerri Meulemans and fiance, Thomas; Christy, Jason and Hollie Webster and special friend, Tyler; and Jake Lamers; eight great-grandchildren: Tyler, Bryanna, Rebecca and Alex Spietz; Derek and Chloe Herzfeldt, and Charles Ethan and Morgan Gaitz; three step-great-grandchildren: Alex, Courtney and Cody Broehm. She is further survived by her sister, Marie DeBruin; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Alice and Ralph Meulemans; sister-in-law, Rosemary Franz; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Frances is preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Gertrude Verhoeven; Father and mother-in-law, Frank and Margaret Meulemans; brothers-in-law: Tony DeBruin, Peter VerVoort, and Herman Franz; sister-in-law, Ruth VerVoort; and special granddaughter, Lisa Cotter.
    The funeral liturgy will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna.
    The family would like to thank ThedaCare at Home for their help, comfort and support; especially Julie for her tender, loving care with Mom.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Frances' name is being established.
