    Richard J. "Dick" VanDenHeuvel, 63, of Green Bay, died Saturday, June 13, 2009, at a local hospital with his children at his side.
    He was born Dec. 12, 1945, in Green Bay to Henry and Eloise (Smet) VanDenHeuvel. Dick served in the U.S. Army Reserve for 11 years and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class. He had been employed at Proctor and Gamble for 22 years and later worked at Green Bay Cheese. Dick co-owned and operated Dick and Kar's Bar for 13 years. Dick loved hunting, fishing, camping, NASCAR, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Packers, motorcycles (Harleys) and most of all, gambling.
    He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Penny Jo (William) Roberts, Stoddard, Wis.; a son and daughter-in-law, Rich (Shannon) VanDenHeuvel, Rhinelander; two beautiful granddaughters, Emma Roberts and Willow VanDenHeuvel; the mother of his children and good friend, Kar VanDenHeuvel; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Jane) VanDenHeuvel, Ed (Lois) VanDenHeuvel; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda (Cy) Daul, Mary (Curt) Pautz, Bonnie (Jim) Delaurelle, Debbie (Randy) Vogels, Jean (Jeff) Jorgensen, his mother-in-law, Helen Powell and her children, many nieces and nephews and a good friend, John Lamers.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a very special brother-in-law, Steve Spaude.
    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 3 to 7 pm. Monday. The funeral service will be held at 7 pm. Monday at the funeral home. To send on-line condolences please go to www.BlaneyFuneral Home.com.
    The VanDenHeuvel family wishes to express their gratitude and prayers to Uncle Ed and Aunt Lois for everything they did for our dad. We truly appreciate it.
