    Obituary:
    Rita J. Kane, of Neenah, formerly of Kimberly, passed away at home on Saturday, June 4, 2016 with her family at her side. She was born on March 20, 1925 in Kimberly, the daughter of the late John and Marie Vanden Boogaard. Rita graduated from Kimberly High School in 1943. She went to work in the finishing room at the Kimberly Clark Paper Mill. On July 22, 1950 she married Richard Kane at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Kimberly. After working 21 years at the H. C. Prange Co., she retired as Credit Manager.
    Her active community involvement included the American Legion Auxiliary, Kimberly Recreation Association, Kimberly Golden Agers, Holy Name Christian Women, Kimberly Schools PTA, and Boy Scout Den mother. Rita received a special Red Apple Award following many years of her citizen involvement with the Kimberly School Board.
    Rita loved her family and enjoyed being surrounded by them. She enjoyed a good game of Sheepshead or Cribbage and loved to watch the Brewers, Badgers and Packer games. It was not unusual for her to befriend and know someone every place she went. Her love of life and gift of laughter will be remembered by the many lives she touched.
    Rita is survived by her three children: Diane (Warren) Wolf, Onalaska WI; Debra (Joel) Franckowiak, Traverse City MI; David (Patricia) Kane, Neenah; six grandchildren: Kara (Jesse) Reed, Kelsi (friend Kenny) Franckowiak, and Korie Franckowiak; Jennifer (Jude) Miron, Wendy (David) Mader and Matthew (Krystal) Kane; eight great grandchildren: Michael Reed; Reese, Evan, Liam and Gavin Miron; Mason and Violet Mader; Kaiba Kane; and sister in law: Rose Marie Vanden Boogaard . She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
    Rita was preceded in death by her husband Richard, her parents John & Marie Vanden Boogaard, brother John Vanden Boogaard and her in-laws Roy & May Kane.
    The funeral service for Rita will be held at HOLY SPRITIT CATHOLIC CHURCH, Kimberly on Monday, June 13, 2016. Friends may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. prior to the mass of Christian burial on Monday. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Rita's name. Online condolences can be expressed at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    Special recognition and thanks from the family to Dr. Steven Hagen and his nurse Ann, along with the Island Shores Caregivers.

    John "Orangie" W. Vanden Boogaard, age 84, of Menasha, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Sunday, November 20, 2011, with his family by his side. John was born on November 11, 1927, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He graduated from Kimberly High School in 1946 and then spent two years in the U.S. Army before going to U.W. LaCrosse, graduating in 1952 with a Bachelor of Science degree. John then coached and taught at Edgar, Wisconsin for two years. Following Edgar, he coached athletics and taught for two years in Freedom, Wisconsin. In 1956 he moved to Menasha High School, continuing his athletic coaching and teaching. In 1959 he received his Master of Science degree from U. W. Oshkosh. John retired from Menasha High School as a Guidance Counselor in 1989 after 37 years in education. Survivors include his four children, Keith (Margie) Vanden Boogaard, Oshkosh; Kurt Vanden Boogaard, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Kim Olson, Menasha; and Kevin Vanden Boogaard, Darboy. He has four grandchildren, Aaron (Melanie) Vanden Boogaard, Oshkosh; Paul Vanden Boogaard, Oshkosh; Sara Olson, Flagstaff, Arizona; and Eric Olson, Santa Cruz, Bolivia. He is further survived by his sister, Rita (Richard) Kane, Kimberly. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2011, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME - TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL, Menasha, with Deacon Rick Dvorak officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Menasha. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to benefit the RLS Foundation.
