    FREEDOM MAN PLACED ON PAROLE FOR 2 YEARS Albert Vandenhoy, town of Freedom, was placed under parole to the state board of control for two years by Judge Theodore Berg in municipal court Saturday morning after he pleaded guilty of non-support. He was arrested last week on complaint of his wife, who charged he failed to support her and their three minor children. Vandenhoy will be held al tho county Jail until a state reprc sentativo can come to Appleton to innko arrangements to secure work for him. His wages will be collected by the state and a share will be used to support his family.

    Mary Jane Popp, Kaukauna, age 82, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on March 23, 1927, in the Town of Grand Chute to the late Albert and Grace (Andrews) Vandenhoy. Mary Jane married Ray Krueger on June 23, 1945. Ray died April 5, 1972, following an industrial accident at Roloff Foundry. She married Adolph Popp on June 7, 1980. He died on January 16, 1981. Mary Jane was a member of Peace United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was also very active in the church, where she served as Treasurer for 19 years and Financial Secretary in recent years. She was President of United Methodist Women at various times through the years. She also held various offices in the District and Conference level of the United Methodist Women. She worked with the Meals on Wheels program since 1972 and served as coordinator since 1981. Mary Jane was a member of the Tuesday Bible Study Club and served as its leader since 1972. She was also a member of the Kaukauna Health Associates. She was very active at the Community Clothes Closet and served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for many years. She worked with the P.A.L. program, LEAVEN, and the V.I.O.S. program at the County Jail, where she was also the Librarian. Mary Jane was presented with the Volunteer of the Year Award by the Kaukauna Club in 1989, Volunteer of the Year Award by the A.A.R.P. Chapter in 1991, the Janet Berry Award by the Post Crescent in 1992 and Volunteer of the Year Award by the City of Kaukauna in 2001.
    Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Wendy Junemann, Appleton; stepson, Kenneth (Mary Lou) Popp, Surprise, AZ; grandchildren: Jayne and Joseph Junemann; three stepgrandchildren; and sister, Alice Blumreich. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her parents and husbands, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her children: Sally Krueger in 1973, David Krueger in 1989 and Grace Robinson in 2003.
    Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2009, at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (201 E. Main St., Little Chute) from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Friday, October 9, 2009, at PEACE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH (2300 Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna) from 10 a.m. until the time of Funeral at 11 a.m. The Rev.     Rick Vandenhoy, 54, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at a local nursing home. Rick was born in Green Bay, on March 24, 1954, son of the late Richard Vandenhoy, Sr. and Arlene Blohowiak, who resides in Appleton.
    Rick will be remembered for his love of jigsaw and crossword puzzles, exploring the Internet, and camping and fishing in Arkansas.
    In addition to his mother, Rick is survived by his brothers and sisters, Patti Vandenhoy, Spokane, Wash.; Steve Vandenhoy, Green Bay; Mike Vandenhoy, Freedom, and his special friend, Peggy; Terry Vandenhoy, Combined Locks; Connie Boehm, St. Charles, Ill.; Carl Vandenhoy, Oshkosh; and Lynn Vandenhoy, Jacksonville, Fla., and her special friend, Donna. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Florence Vandenhoy, Little Chute; and Patty Vandenhoy, Seymour; nine nieces and nephews; and by a special friend, Peggy Ebben, Greenville.
    Rick was preceded in death by his father; brothers, Norbert Vandenhoy and Tim Vandenhoy; and a sister-in-law, Debbie Vandenhoy.
    A memorial service for Rick will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at the Wichmann Funeral Home in Appleton, with the Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.

    Connie was preceded in death by her husband John Boehm, her father Richard Vandenhoy, Sr., brothers Norb Vandenhoy, Rick Vandenhoy, Tim Vandenhoy, and sister-in-law Debbie Vandenhoy.
    Connie loved playing the piano, knitting and cross stitching. Her passion in caring for others, as a registered nurse, leaves no revelation to her final choice. Connie chose to donate her body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois. The donation of her remains to medical education further symbolizes her love for research and caring in health care for which she will always be remembered.
