    Obituary:
Christine Meidam, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on September 20th in her home with family near her. Christine was born in love to LeRoy and Iley (Meyer) Ruwoldt on April 19th 1951. She enjoyed her childhood in Appleton on the family farm. She met Leon Meidam in 1967 and it was love at first sight. They would often go dancing at The Country Aire with friends. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1969. Chrissy wrote to Leon every day during his two tours of duty in Vietnam and they were married upon his return on October 23rd 1971.
Christine's life was soon full of homemaking and raising their two children: Leanne and Timothy who were her pride and joy. The family built a house in Greenville and she made it a home. She was soon running the two of them back and forth from practices; she came to every meet and performance they had. She was employed by Treasure Island, Menards and JanSport. Christine enjoyed her life. Her love and joy was never doubted by her husband, children, friends and family. She delighted in her grandchildren: Zeke, Jeremiah, Koral, Joshua and Alaina. She took care of the wildlife in her backyard, especially the deer and birds. She enjoyed watching Packer games and NASCAR races.
Christine's life was a life of selfless service. She taught Sunday School at Trinity and volunteered at Hortonville Elementary School. She welcomed home every veteran of Desert Storm at Outagamie County Airport. She is a founding and current member of Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) chapter 351, chairing the Sunshine Committee and helping everyone. On a state level with VVA she chaired the POW-MIA committee. Christine has been active for decades in the POW-MIA issue and reaches out to their families often. She has been an organizer and support person for the Highground Bike Tour since its beginning 28 years ago. Christine has supported the 101st Airborne Old Abe chapter in Wisconsin. She has helped the Alpha troops 2nd of the 17th Air Cav 101st Airborne. She also worked with many other veterans groups and community service organizations. She has been a tireless listener, friend and supporter of Vietnam veterans, their families and everyone who knew her.
Christine will be missed by the love of her life and husband, Leon Meidam. Her children: Leanne (Keith) Meidam Wincentsen, Greenville, her son Tim Meidam, Menasha, her grandchildren, her mother Iley Ruwoldt, sister Janis (Richard) Scharmann, brother James Ruwoldt, in-laws Larry & Sandy Meidam, Sandy & Mark Schindler, Rosemary & Mike Dietz, Mark & Linda Meidam, Kim & Cindy Meidam, Connie & Darrell Pomplun.
