    Betters, Arthur E.; 305 E. 7 th Street, KaukaunaAge 75, passed away Monday, June 23, 2003 at his home surrounded by his fa mily. Art was born in Quinnessec, Michigan on September 14, 1927, son of t he late Joseph and Alice (Jamarr) Betters. He had been a Kaukauna reside nt since 1948, and was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper for over thirty -six years, retiring in 1985. On June 19, 1948, Art married the former Ber nice Mischler at St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna. He was a longtime m ember of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kaukauna and a member of the Quart er Century Club at Thilmany. He is survived by his wife: Bernice Bette rs of Kaukauna; three sons: Daniel (Monica) Betters of Menasha; David Bett ers of Kimberly; Anthony (Jean) Betters of Kimberly; five daughters: Kathl een Krahn of Kaukauna; Carolyn (Michael) Hackel of Combined Locks; Patric ia Oates of Appleton; Teresa Maas of Kaukauna; Laura (Robert) Rolf of Kauk auna; twenty grandchildren: Sue (Phil) Sobiek, Christine and Heather Krah n, Emily and Amanda Hackel and her fiance Jason Lamine, Beth Apitz, Bren t, Jonathon, and Amie Betters, Michael, Paul and Kaitlin Oates, Nicholas a nd Scott Maas and his fiance Kathy Schevers, Brian and Brenda Schuh, Carme n, Robyn, Natasha and Shannon Rolf and her fiance Michael Verhagen; thr ee great-grandchildren: Jade and Trent Sobiek, and Trenton Verhagen; his s pecial little friends Ryan and Maddie Veldman; an aunt Doris Borden of Nee nah, and a great aunt Lillian Betters of Powers, Michigan.     Daniel J. Betters, age 63, of Menasha, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 20, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. On August 11, 1951, Daniel was born in Appleton to the late Arthur E. and Bernice M. (Mischler) Betters. He was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1969. Upon graduation, he pursued a career as an electrician as well as a "Jack of all Trades." Dan had started his own business and worked for many years doing what he loved to do most; especially remodeling and woodworking. Dan was united in marriage to Monica J. Huelsbeck on August 3, 1990 in Appleton. He was a great pool player and was a master at training dogs. As members of Christ the Rock, Dan and Monica were involved in many ministries with Caring Hearts Disability Ministry being closest to Dan's heart. He loved spending every moment he could with his family and grandchildren.
    Dan will be missed by his loving wife, Monica; his daughter, Elizabeth (Adam) Van Nice and their children: Caiden, Gabriel, Judah, Elias, and another baby boy due to arrive in July; his siblings: Kathy Krahn, Lyn (Mike) Hackel, Dave Betters, Patti Oates, Terri Maas, Tony (friend, Ellen) Betters, Laurie (Bob) Rolf; brother-in-law, Jeff (Deb) Huelsbeck; nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, friends, and his loving four-legged best friend, Spirit.
    In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a grandchild; brother-in-law, Bob Krahn; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Raymond and Delphine Huelsbeck; and a few treasured cousins.
    A Memorial Celebration of Dan's life will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Christ the Rock, W6254 Hwy 10-114 in Menasha. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 3:00pm until the hour of the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. William Guenther and his staff for the past 10 ½ years of comfort and caring support as well as the staff on the 7th floor at AMC for the loving care given to Dan and especially to our dear friend and genetics counselor, Bobbi McGivern, for her personable and compassionate care.

    Richard "Rich" J. Betters, age 56, of Sherwood, rode to Heaven on a Harley on Friday, August 29, 2014, at his home after a three year battle with pancreatic cancer. Rich was born on September 19, 1957, in Appleton, to Phyllis (Liethen) Craney and the late Howard Betters. He was a 1976 graduate of Kimberly High School and received an electrical design degree from Fox Valley Technical College. Rich worked for over 20 years at Valmet-Metso, traveling often for work, and finished his career at Baisch. In the summer of 2002, Rich married the love of his life, Tina Tuyls.
    Rich was a smart and talented man that loved wood working, photography and music. He was also an amazing cook and enjoyed taking walks at High Cliff State Park. Rich was an avid sports fan who loved golfing, fishing and cheering on the Packers and the Brewers. As stubborn as he was, Rich always knew what he wanted. He touched everyone he knew and never turned down helping someone. Rich will always be remembered as being humble and kind. He was loved by many and a brother to Tina's family. Rich was a loving husband and was "the Dad he didn't have to be".
    Rich is survived by his wife of 12 years, Tina and his daughter, Katy (Brandon) Ertl. He is further survived by his mother: Phyllis (Don) Craney; sister: Donna Betters-Van Roy; brother: Robert (Cherri) Betters; his special niece: Kelly (Terry) Thornton; his sisters-in-law: Judi (Harold) Micke, Patti (Ron) Fleming, and Bonnie Tuyls; brothers-in-law: Roland (late Karen) Tuyls, Gary Tuyls, Tim (Linda) Tuyls, Brian (Pam) Tuyls, Ronnie Tuyls, Greg (Brenda) Tuyls and Dan (Kris) Tuyls; his Godfather Uncle Maury Brockman and his special friend, Roger Stienen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his sisters Diane (Betters) Depner and JoAnn (Betters) Paul; as well as his Godmother Marilyn Brockman.
    The memorial service for Rich will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2014, from 4:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.     JoAnn M. Paul, age 53, of Menasha, passed away at Manor Care, Appleton, on Tuesday, October 10, 2013. Jo was born on July 25, 1960, in Appleton, to Phyllis (Liethen) Craney and the late Howard Betters. She was well known for helping and caring for others. Jo enjoyed cooking, music, NASCAR, visiting their cottage up north to fish, and was an avid Green Bay Packer fan.
    Survivors include her mother, Phyllis (Don) Craney; her siblings, Richard (Tina) Betters, Donna Betters-Van Roy, and Robert (Cherri) Betters; her special niece, Kelly (Terry) Thornton; her nieces and nephews, Katy (Brandon) Ertl, Nick Van Roy, Daryle Van Roy, Zach Fischer, Candice Fischer and Josh Fischer; her grand niece and nephew, Hannah and Hunter Thornton. She is further survived by her former spouse, John R. Paul and his mother, Dorothy Paul. Jo was preceded in death by her sister, Diane (Betters) Depner. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 E. Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, Wisconsin, with Sister Annette Koss officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from Noon until the time of services. Interment will be in Holy Name Catholic Church Cemetery, Kimberly. A memorial has been established in her name.
