Obituary:
Anita Breit, 97, of Kaukauna, Wis., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, at FHN Lena Nursing Home in Lena.
Anita was born Nov. 26, 1906, in Hilbert, Wis., the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Rach) Schmitz. On May 5, 1925, Anita married John Breit in Hilbert. He preceded her in death in May 1947.
For many years, Anita worked as a nurses aide at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church prior to moving to Illinois.
Anita is survived by a son, Cyril "Cy" (Jean) Breit of Lena; a son-in-law; Gerald Strong of Pewaukee, Wis.; eight grandchildren, Duane (Darlene) Strong, John (Sue) Strong, Vicki (Jerome) Bobb and Greg Strong, all of Pewaukee, and Keith Strong of New London, Wis., Faye (Craig) Heilman and Lynn (Kirk) Polhill of Lena and Kenneth (Christine) Breit of Lisle; 17 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; as well as by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1947; a son, Kenneth in 1949; a daughter, Germaine Strong in May 2000; brothers Elmer, Ray and Ally Schmitz; and sister, Erla Kleist.
The funeral liturgy for Anita will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., in Kaukauna, Wis., with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be at St. John Cemetery, St. John.
Friends may call directly at the church from 9 a.m. Monday until the hour of the services.

Obituary:
Kaukauna Man Dies As Auto Lands in Ditch HILBERT, Wis. - Kenneth Breit, 21, Kaukauna, was killed Thursday when the car he was riding in rolled over and crashed into a ditch on Highway 114 two miles south of Hilbert. Breit was pinned under the car and died instantly. The driver, Robert J. Hauser, 21, Rt. 2, Hilbert, received only minor injuries. Calumet County authorities said they did not know why Hauser lost control of the car. They said an inquest probably would be held.
