    Collar, Edward M.Age 75, went to his eternal home on Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004, after a long a nd courageous battle with heart disease and kidney failure. Ed was bo rn on December 10, 1928, the son of Adeline (Breyer) and Millard Colla r. In his teens he moved with his mother to Owen, Wisconsin, then later re turned to Greenville. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Leon a. Ed and Leona celebrated 52 years of marriage on August 28, 200 4. He is also survived by his daughter Karen and son-in-law Mark Coffey a nd Grandson Benjamin Bay.Ed will be remembered for his faith, love of family and friends, for his l essons of truth and honesty and the reward of a hard day of work. Ed w as a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where he was a former Vice Preside nt, Sunday School Supervisor and Stewardship/ Evangelism Chairman. Ed w as very honored and proud to serve our country. He joined the Air For ce in 1949 and retired as a Master Sergeant. He has over 22 years in the a ctive Air Force Reserve. He was very active in many volunteer endeavor s. He was a member of the American Legion Post #41 and over the years he ld numerous officer positions. He was a member of the Voiture 114 0, 40 et 8. He was an active member of AAL Branch 3163 and Equitable Reser ve Assembly #2. He was member of AARP and the Golden Agers of Kaukaun a. He spent over 24 years working at Giddings and Lewis and over 15 yea rs with AAL.Ed ward preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Anna a nd McCarthy Huff, and brothers-in-law Frank and Harold Huff.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wed. September 8, 2004 at Betha ny Lutheran Church 124 W. 10th St., Kaukauna with Pastor Walter Steinba ch officiating. Friends may call directly at the church from 9 a.m. Wed. u ntil the time of services. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Par k, Appleton, with complete military rites conducted by the American Legi on Post #41. A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank Doctor Wilson's Staff, especially Kim for h er kindness and words of encouragement, List at the VA Clinic, Hospice a nd the staff at Cherry Meadows.
