    Biography:
JOHN JULIUS, who owns one of the finest farms in Greenville township, an excellent tract of 144 acres, has been intimately connected with the agricultural interests of this section for a long period, and is well and favorably known throughout this part of the county. Mr. Julius was born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, April 20, 1847, and is a son of Frederick and Louisa (Daho) Julius, natives of the Fatherland. Mr. Julius attended school in Greenville township, and at the age of fourteen years began working out among the farmers as a hand. When he was twenty-three years of age he learned the trade of mason, which he followed in connection with farming for about seven years, then renting a property from his father. Some years later he purchased this land, and he has added to it from time to time and made many improvements as the years have passed, adding to the buildings and equipments. He now operates his farm in a general way, marketing hay, cattle and grain. He has a comfortable residence, a barn 40x84 feet, and numerous outbuildings for the shelter of his grain, stock and machinery. In addition, Mr. Julius has a fine automobile, which he finds of much assistance in his farm work. In political matters he is a Democrat. Obituary:
Joyce Ann Julius, age 71, of Neenah, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Cherry Meadows Hospice in Appleton of lung cancer. She was born on July 14, 1942 to the late Harvey & Mina (Schmidt) Julius and was the twelfth of thirteen children. She graduated from Neenah High School and worked for George Banta for over 42 years until her retirement in August 2004.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Sandra Kuehn of Larsen and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert, Arthur, Donald, Richard, Gilbert, Gerald and Roy; sisters, Ruby Young, Helen Rodgers, Mary Steffens and Dorothy Julius.
Joyce loved animals, especially her horse, "Traveler" and her German Sheppard "Lady". She also loved woodworking and made many tables and ornaments for family and friends on her scroll saw. She played softball for many years with the Neenah-Menasha girls. She spent a lot of time with friends at her trailer in the Tilleda campground.
Joyce was a high-spirited, independent woman who wasn't afraid to take care of things herself. Because of that, she was always the first to help her friends and family with anything they needed. Good friends are hard to find and Joyce had many. She will be greatly missed.
A gathering for friends and family will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Whiting Boathouse, 98 5th St., Neenah where food will be served.
