Audrey D. Rebholz of Brookfield departed this earthly life to be with her lord and join the heavenly choir of angels Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005.
Audrey was born in Milwaukee on March 22, 1917, the daughter of Ophelia Dolly (Bartelt) (Aultman) Wilson. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Bay View High School in 1936.
Prior to becoming a devoted homemaker, the F. W. Woolworth Co., Normandie Potato Corp. and Van Raults employed her.
On Aug. 31, 1940, Audrey married John (Jack) J. Rebholz.
Audrey's home was always alive with family and her love for children. Working with children and ensuring that they were loved and cared for was a top concern for her. Audrey was a health room volunteer at Wisconsin Hills and Swanson elementary schools in Brookfield for more than 35 years, an American Red Cross volunteer for more than 60 years, a volunteer with The Salvation Army and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in addition to her volunteer efforts with many other groups. She also worked at Kock's A&W.
She was a founding member of St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Milwaukee and a current member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha.
Audrey is survived by her husband of 65 years, Jack, and their five children, Terry (Jeanne), Ken, Marianne (Roger), Richard and Scott (Janet); 15 grandchildren, Alan, Amanda, Andrea, Angela, Beth, Kittrick, Maria, Melissa, Michael, Michelle, Robert, Sandy, Scott, Sean and Tammy; 14 great-grandchildren, Alexander, Austin, Brett, Carissa, Christopher, Jenna Ray, Julia, Keith, Kittrick, Lily, Michael, Nicholas, Olivia, Thomas, and a new baby on the way; her sister, Bernice Schuldt; her niece, Nicole Schuldt; and her grandnephew, Jason Wallace.
Audrey is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Ann (Hill); her brother-in-law, Norman Schuldt; her niece, Penny Wallace; and her nephew, Mark Schuldt.
Visitation will be held from 2 p.m until the 4:30 p.m. service Sunday, Oct. 23, at Hartson Funeral Home, 11111 W. Janesville Road, Hales Corners. A second visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, at Valhalla Cemetery. Interment will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family, which will be given to the charity of their choice, are appreciated.
